When all the surrounding kingdoms heard that the Lord himself had fought against the enemies of Israel, the fear of God came over them.So Jehoshaphat’s kingdom was at peace, for his God had given him rest on every side.

But the Lord is in his holy Temple. Let all the earth be silent before him.”

All living things— the fish in the sea, the birds of the sky, the animals of the field, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and all the people on earth— will quake in terror at my presence. Mountains will be thrown down; cliffs will crumble; walls will fall to the earth.I will summon the sword against you on all the hills of Israel, says the Sovereign Lord. Your men will turn their swords against each other.I will punish you and your armies with disease and bloodshed; I will send torrential rain, hailstones, fire, and burning sulfur!In this way, I will show my greatness and holiness, and I will make myself known to all the nations of the world. Then they will know that I am the Lord.

Then the Lord told Moses,“ Go down and prepare the people for my arrival. Consecrate them today and tomorrow, and have them wash their clothing.

“ Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”

The stars fought from heaven. The stars in their orbits fought against Sisera.

Let all the earth tremble before him. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.

Be silent before the Lord, all humanity, for he is springing into action from his holy dwelling.”

Then King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz cried out in prayer to God in heaven.And the Lord sent an angel who destroyed the Assyrian army with all its commanders and officers. So Sennacherib was forced to return home in disgrace to his own land. And when he entered the temple of his god, some of his own sons killed him there with a sword.That is how the Lord rescued Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem from King Sennacherib of Assyria and from all the others who threatened them. So there was peace throughout the land.
