Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.

爾實置之於險地、委之於沉淪兮、

維彼惡人、雨置諸險滑之途、擲諸死亡之地兮、

主使之立於滑地、使之陷於沈淪、

欲論世間人。應觀其終局。小人處順境。所以成其戮。

Surely you place them on slippery ground; you cast them down to ruin.

God, I’m sure you will make them slip and fall. You will throw them down and destroy them.

Truly you set them in slippery places; you make them fall to ruin.

Truly, you put them on a slippery path and send them sliding over the cliff to destruction.

Indeed, you put them in slippery places; you make them fall into ruin.

You indeed put them on slippery ground; You dropped them into ruin.

Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness;[ yea], the LORD our God shall cut them off.

I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.Yet he passed away, and, lo, he[ was] not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.Mark the perfect[ man], and behold the upright: for the end of[ that] man[ is] peace.But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.

Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery[ ways] in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them,[ even] the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.

When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish;[ it is] that they shall be destroyed for ever:

Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth[ him with] his hand.

To me[ belongeth] vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in[ due] time: for the day of their calamity[ is] at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.

But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD[ shall be] as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.
