I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High.

I will tell about your justice, and all day long proclaim your salvation, though I cannot fathom its full extent.I will come and tell about the mighty acts of the sovereign LORD. I will proclaim your justice– yours alone.

His work is majestic and glorious, and his faithfulness endures forever.

But at the end of the appointed time I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up toward heaven, and my sanity returned to me. I extolled the Most High, and I praised and glorified the one who lives forever. For his authority is an everlasting authority, and his kingdom extends from one generation to the next.

Then I will tell others about your justice, and praise you all day long.

Yet the Most High does not live in houses made by human hands, as the prophet says,

The LORD demonstrates his power to deliver; in the sight of the nations he reveals his justice.

They will talk about the fame of your great kindness, and sing about your justice.

But you, O LORD, reign forever!

It is fitting to thank the LORD, and to sing praises to your name, O sovereign One!

Rescue me from the guilt of murder, O God, the God who delivers me! Then my tongue will shout for joy because of your deliverance.

This announcement is by the decree of the sentinels; this decision is by the pronouncement of the holy ones, so that those who are alive may understand that the Most High has authority over human kingdoms, and he bestows them on whomever he wishes. He establishes over them even the lowliest of human beings.’

You will be driven from human society, and you will live with the wild animals. You will be fed grass like oxen, and you will become damp with the dew of the sky. Seven periods of time will pass by for you, before you understand that the Most High is ruler over human kingdoms and gives them to whomever he wishes.
