Lord my God, I take refuge in you; save and deliver me from all who pursue me,

Lord my God, I go to you for safety. Help me. Save me from all those who are chasing me.

O Lord my God, in you do I take refuge; save me from all my pursuers and deliver me,

I come to you for protection, O Lord my God. Save me from my persecutors— rescue me!

LORD my God, I seek refuge in you; save me from all my pursuers and rescue me,

O Lord my God, in You I have taken refuge; Save me from all those who pursue me, and rescue me,

O Lord my God, in You I put my trust; Save me from all those who persecute me; And deliver me,

O Jehovah my God, in thee do I take refuge: Save me from all them that pursue me, and deliver me,

Yahweh my God, I seek refuge in You; save me from all my pursuers and rescue me

O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:

O LORD my God, in you I have taken shelter. Deliver me from all who chase me! Rescue me!

My times are in your hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me.

A prayer of Habakkuk, the prophet, set to victorious music.

Who among you fears Yahweh and obeys the voice of his servant? He who walks in darkness and has no light, let him trust in Yahweh’s name, and rely on his God.

Many sorrows come to the wicked, but loving kindness shall surround him who trusts in Yahweh.

But Yahweh is with me as an awesome mighty one. Therefore my persecutors will stumble, and they won’t prevail. They will be utterly disappointed, because they have not dealt wisely, even with an everlasting dishonor which will never be forgotten.

For you will light my lamp, Yahweh. My God will light up my darkness.

When David was a little past the top, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him with a couple of donkeys saddled, and on them two hundred loaves of bread, and one hundred clusters of raisins, and one hundred summer fruits, and a container of wine.The king said to Ziba,“ What do you mean by these?” Ziba said,“ The donkeys are for the king’s household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that those who are faint in the wilderness may drink.”The king said,“ Where is your master’s son?” Ziba said to the king,“ Behold, he is staying in Jerusalem; for he said,‘ Today the house of Israel will restore me the kingdom of my father.’”Then the king said to Ziba,“ Behold, all that belongs to Mephibosheth is yours.” Ziba said,“ I bow down. Let me find favor in your sight, my lord, O king.”When king David came to Bahurim, behold, a man of the family of Saul’s house came out, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera. He came out and cursed as he came.He cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David, and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.Shimei said when he cursed,“ Be gone, be gone, you man of blood, and wicked fellow!Yahweh has returned on you all the blood of Saul’s house, in whose place you have reigned! Yahweh has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom your son! Behold, you are caught by your own mischief, because you are a man of blood!”Then Abishai the son of Zeruiah said to the king,“ Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Please let me go over and take off his head.”The king said,“ What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? Because he curses, and because Yahweh has said to him,‘ Curse David;’ who then shall say,‘ Why have you done so?’”David said to Abishai, and to all his servants,“ Behold, my son, who came out of my bowels, seeks my life. How much more this Benjamite, now? Leave him alone, and let him curse; for Yahweh has invited him.It may be that Yahweh will look on the wrong done to me, and that Yahweh will repay me good for the cursing of me today.”So David and his men went by the way; and Shimei went along on the hillside opposite him, and cursed as he went, threw stones at him, and threw dust.The king, and all the people who were with him, came weary; and he refreshed himself there.Absalom and all the people, the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him.When Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, had come to Absalom, Hushai said to Absalom,“ Long live the king! Long live the king!”Absalom said to Hushai,“ Is this your kindness to your friend? Why didn’t you go with your friend?”Hushai said to Absalom,“ No; but whomever Yahweh, and this people, and all the men of Israel have chosen, I will be his, and I will stay with him.Again, whom should I serve? Shouldn’t I serve in the presence of his son? As I have served in your father’s presence, so I will be in your presence.”Then Absalom said to Ahithophel,“ Give your counsel what we shall do.”Ahithophel said to Absalom,“ Go in to your father’s concubines that he has left to keep the house. Then all Israel will hear that you are abhorred by your father. Then the hands of all who are with you will be strong.”So they spread a tent for Absalom on the top of the house, and Absalom went in to his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.The counsel of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was as if a man inquired at the inner sanctuary of God. All the counsel of Ahithophel both was like this with David and with Absalom.

Behold, and answer me, Yahweh, my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death;

“ I have surely heard Ephraim grieving thus,‘ You have chastised me, and I was chastised, as an untrained calf. Turn me, and I will be turned; for you are Yahweh my God.

Show your marvelous loving kindness, you who save those who take refuge by your right hand from their enemies.Keep me as the apple of your eye. Hide me under the shadow of your wings,from the wicked who oppress me, my deadly enemies, who surround me.

But I trust in your loving kindness. My heart rejoices in your salvation.

Judge me, Yahweh, for I have walked in my integrity. I have trusted also in Yahweh without wavering.

Contend, Yahweh, with those who contend with me. Fight against those who fight against me.Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help.Brandish the spear and block those who pursue me. Tell my soul,“ I am your salvation.”

You shall flee by the valley of my mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azel; yes, you shall flee, just like you fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Yahweh my God will come, and all the holy ones with you.

Yahweh, you know. Remember me, visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors. You are patient, so don’t take me away. Know that for your sake I have suffered reproach.

Arise, Yahweh! Save me, my God! For you have struck all of my enemies on the cheek bone. You have broken the teeth of the wicked.

to the end that my heart may sing praise to you, and not be silent. Yahweh my God, I will give thanks to you forever!In you, Yahweh, I take refuge. Let me never be disappointed. Deliver me in your righteousness.

Don’t put your trust in princes, each a son of man in whom there is no help.His spirit departs, and he returns to the earth. In that very day, his thoughts perish.Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Yahweh, his God:who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps truth forever;

Therefore let them also who suffer according to the will of God in doing good entrust their souls to him, as to a faithful Creator.

He will call to me,‘ You are my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation!’

Yahweh my God, I cried to you, and you have healed me.

In Yahweh, I take refuge. How can you say to my soul,“ Flee as a bird to your mountain”?

Nevertheless, my brothers who went up with me made the heart of the people melt; but I wholly followed Yahweh my God.

who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead, and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God.

Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my exceeding joy. I will praise you on the harp, God, my God.

Lord, hear. Lord, forgive. Lord, listen and do. Don’t defer, for your own sake, my God, because your city and your people are called by your name.”While I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before Yahweh my God for the holy mountain of my God;

Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.

I prayed to Yahweh my God, and made confession, and said,“ Oh, Lord, the great and dreadful God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness with those who love him and keep his commandments,

My God, I have trusted in you. Don’t let me be shamed. Don’t let my enemies triumph over me.
