You ascend on high, you have taken many captives. You receive tribute from men, including even sinful rebels. Indeed the LORD God lives there!

When you ascended on high, you took many captives; you received gifts from people, even from the rebellious— that you, Lord God, might dwell there.

When he went up to his place on high, he took many prisoners. He received gifts from people, even from those who refused to obey him. The Lord God went up to live on Mount Zion.

You ascended on high, leading a host of captives in your train and receiving gifts among men, even among the rebellious, that the Lord God may dwell there.

Therefore it says,“ When he ascended on high he captured captives; he gave gifts to men.”Now what is the meaning of“ he ascended,” except that he also descended to the lower regions, namely, the earth?He, the very one who descended, is also the one who ascended above all the heavens, in order to fill all things.

Wake up, wake up, Deborah! Wake up, wake up, sing a song! Get up, Barak! Capture your prisoners of war, son of Abinoam!

He abandoned the sanctuary at Shiloh, the tent where he lived among men.

Who is allowed to ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may go up to his holy dwelling place?

God has ascended his throne amid loud shouts; the LORD has ascended his throne amid the blaring of ram’s horns.

All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak in other languages as the Spirit enabled them.

Here is the LORD’s proclamation to my lord:“ Sit down at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool!”

until the day he was taken up to heaven, after he had given orders by the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.To the same apostles also, after his suffering, he presented himself alive with many convincing proofs. He was seen by them over a forty- day period and spoke about matters concerning the kingdom of God.While he was with them, he declared,“ Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait there for what my Father promised, which you heard about from me.For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”So when they had gathered together, they began to ask him,“ Lord, is this the time when you are restoring the kingdom to Israel?”He told them,“ You are not permitted to know the times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority.But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest parts of the earth.”After he had said this, while they were watching, he was lifted up and a cloud hid him from their sight.

But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I am going away. For if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you, but if I go, I will send him to you.

Jesus replied,“ If anyone loves me, he will obey my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and take up residence with him.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, passive homosexual partners, practicing homosexuals,thieves, the greedy, drunkards, the verbally abusive, and swindlers will not inherit the kingdom of God.Some of you once lived this way. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

The circumference of the city will be six miles. The name of the city from that day forward will be:‘ The LORD Is There.’”

So Ananias departed and entered the house, placed his hands on Saul and said,“ Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came here, has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

Now during the blessing he departed and was taken up into heaven.

Therefore since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.

For this is what the high and exalted one says, the one who rules forever, whose name is holy:“ I dwell in an exalted and holy place, but also with the discouraged and humiliated, in order to cheer up the humiliated and to encourage the discouraged.

But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

And what mutual agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said,“ I will live in them and will walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. For he will not speak on his own authority, but will speak whatever he hears, and will tell you what is to come.He will glorify me, because he will receive from me what is mine and will tell it to you.Everything that the Father has is mine; that is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what is mine and will tell it to you.

where Jesus our forerunner entered on our behalf, since he became a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.

in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

this man, who was handed over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you executed by nailing him to a cross at the hands of Gentiles.

And look, I am sending you what my Father promised. But stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

The Son is the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, and he sustains all things by his powerful word, and so when he had accomplished cleansing for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Look up, you gates! Rise up, you eternal doors! Then the majestic king will enter!Who is this majestic king? The LORD who is strong and mighty! The LORD who is mighty in battle!Look up, you gates! Rise up, you eternal doors! Then the majestic king will enter!Who is this majestic king? The LORD who commands armies! He is the majestic king!( Selah)

Early on the first day of the week, after he arose, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had driven out seven demons.

Now the main point of what we are saying is this: We have such a high priest, one who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,

So then, exalted to the right hand of God, and having received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, he has poured out what you both see and hear.For David did not ascend into heaven, but he himself says,‘ The Lord said to my lord,“ Sit at my right handuntil I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”’Therefore let all the house of Israel know beyond a doubt that God has made this Jesus whom you crucified both Lord and Christ.”Now when they heard this, they were acutely distressed and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles,“ What should we do, brothers?”Peter said to them,“ Repent, and each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.For the promise is for you and your children, and for all who are far away, as many as the Lord our God will call to himself.”With many other words he testified and exhorted them saying,“ Save yourselves from this perverse generation!”So those who accepted his message were baptized, and that day about three thousand people were added.

The wicked need to abandon their lifestyle and sinful people their plans. They should return to the LORD, and he will show mercy to them, and to their God, for he will freely forgive them.

Certainly the LORD has chosen Zion; he decided to make it his home.He said,“ This will be my resting place forever; I will live here, for I have chosen it.

Go and learn what this saying means:‘ I want mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor, and an arrogant man. But I was treated with mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief,and our Lord’s grace was abundant, bringing faith and love in Christ Jesus.This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance:“ Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”– and I am the worst of them!

“ How long will you simpletons love naiveté? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?If only you will respond to my rebuke, then I will pour out my thoughts to you and I will make my words known to you.

So also it is written,“ The first man, Adam, became a living person”; the last Adam became a life- giving spirit.However, the spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and then the spiritual.The first man is from the earth, made of dust; the second man is from heaven.

The countries are assembled all around you; take once more your rightful place over them!

The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.“ To the angel of the church in Ephesus, write the following:“ This is the solemn pronouncement of the one who has a firm grasp on the seven stars in his right hand– the one who walks among the seven golden lampstands:

Then I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you forever–the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept, because it does not see him or know him. But you know him, because he resides with you and will be in you.
