When you ascended on high, you took many captives; you received gifts from people, even from the rebellious— that you, Lord God, might dwell there.

You ascend on high, you have taken many captives. You receive tribute from men, including even sinful rebels. Indeed the LORD God lives there!

For it says: When He ascended on high, He took prisoners into captivity; He gave gifts to people.But what does“ He ascended” mean except that He descended to the lower parts of the earth?The One who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.

“ Awake! Awake, Deborah! Awake! Awake, sing a song! Arise, Barak, and take hold of your captives, son of Abinoam!”

He abandoned the tabernacle at Shiloh, the tent where He resided among men.

Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in His holy place?

God ascends among shouts of joy, the Lord, among the sound of trumpets.

He is also the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He might come to have first place in everything.For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him,

Then I heard a loud voice from the throne: Look! God’s dwelling is with humanity, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.

Now that He has gone into heaven, He is at God’s right hand with angels, authorities, and powers subject to Him.

Then they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit gave them ability for speech.

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved by various passions and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, detesting one another.But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,He saved us— not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy— through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.He poured out this Spirit on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,so that having been justified by His grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.

This is the declaration of the Lord to my Lord:“ Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies Your footstool.”

Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send Him to you.

Jesus answered,“ If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.

Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be deceived: No sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, or anyone practicing homosexuality,no thieves, greedy people, drunkards, verbally abusive people, or swindlers will inherit God’s kingdom.And some of you used to be like this. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

The perimeter of the city will be six miles, and the name of the city from that day on will be: Yahweh Is There.”

So Ananias left and entered the house. Then he placed his hands on him and said,“ Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road you were traveling, has sent me so that you can regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

And while He was blessing them, He left them and was carried up into heaven.

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens— Jesus the Son of God— let us hold fast to the confession.

For the High and Exalted One who lives forever, whose name is Holy says this:“ I live in a high and holy place, and with the oppressed and lowly of spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and revive the heart of the oppressed.

But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!

And what agreement does God’s sanctuary have with idols? For we are the sanctuary of the living God, as God said: I will dwell among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.

When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak whatever He hears. He will also declare to you what is to come.He will glorify Me, because He will take from what is Mine and declare it to you.Everything the Father has is Mine. This is why I told you that He takes from what is Mine and will declare it to you.

Jesus has entered there on our behalf as a forerunner, because He has become a high priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.

All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him.

Though He was delivered up according to God’s determined plan and foreknowledge, you used lawless people to nail Him to a cross and kill Him.

And look, I am sending you what My Father promised. As for you, stay in the city until you are empowered from on high.”

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact expression of His nature, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Lift up your heads, you gates! Rise up, ancient doors! Then the King of glory will come in.Who is this King of glory? Early on the first day of the week, after He had risen, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had driven seven demons.

Now the main point of what is being said is this: We have this kind of high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

and repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

For the entire fullness of God’s nature dwells bodily in Christ,

But will God indeed live on earth with man? Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain You, much less this temple I have built.

Let the wicked one abandon his way and the sinful one his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, so He may have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will freely forgive.

For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His home:“ This is My resting place forever; I will make My home here because I have desired it.

Go and learn what this means: I desire mercy and not sacrifice. For I didn’t come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

one who was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an arrogant man. But I received mercy because I acted out of ignorance in unbelief.And the grace of our Lord overflowed, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance:“ Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”— and I am the worst of them.

“ How long, foolish ones, will you love ignorance? How long will you mockers enjoy mocking and you fools hate knowledge?If you respond to my warning, then I will pour out my spirit on you and teach you my words.

So it is written: The first man Adam became a living being; the last Adam became a life-giving Spirit.However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, then the spiritual.The first man was from the earth and made of dust; the second man is from heaven.

Let the assembly of peoples gather around You; take Your seat on high over it.

The secret of the seven stars you saw in My right hand and of the seven gold lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.“ Write to the angel of the church in Ephesus:“ The One who holds the seven stars in His right hand and who walks among the seven gold lampstands says:

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever.He is the Spirit of truth. The world is unable to receive Him because it doesn’t see Him or know Him. But you do know Him, because He remains with you and will be in you.
