There your people finally settled, and with a bountiful harvest, O God, you provided for your needy people.

He surrounded them and watched over them; he guarded them as he would guard his own eyes.Like an eagle that rouses her chicks and hovers over her young, so he spread his wings to take them up and carried them safely on his pinions.The Lord alone guided them; they followed no foreign gods.He let them ride over the highlands and feast on the crops of the fields. He nourished them with honey from the rock and olive oil from the stony ground.He fed them yogurt from the herd and milk from the flock, together with the fat of lambs. He gave them choice rams from Bashan, and goats, together with the choicest wheat. You drank the finest wine, made from the juice of grapes.

O God, why have you rejected us so long? Why is your anger so intense against the sheep of your own pasture?Remember that we are the people you chose long ago, the tribe you redeemed as your own special possession! And remember Jerusalem, your home here on earth.

He brought us to this place and gave us this land flowing with milk and honey!And now, O Lord, I have brought you the first portion of the harvest you have given me from the ground.’ Then place the produce before the Lord your God, and bow to the ground in worship before him.

Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example.

He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, placing them in seats of honor. For all the earth is the Lord’s, and he has set the world in order.
