Ah! The roar of many peoples— they roar like the roaring of the seas. The raging of the nations— they rage like the raging of mighty waters.The nations rage like the raging of many waters. He rebukes them, and they flee far away, driven before the wind like chaff on the hills and like tumbleweeds before a gale.

The floods have lifted up, Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their pounding waves.Greater than the roar of many waters— the mighty breakers of the sea— the Lord on high is majestic.

Then the Lord hurled a violent wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose on the sea that the ship threatened to break apart.

But He said to them,“ Why are you fearful, you of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea. And there was a great calm.The men were amazed and asked,“ What kind of man is this?— even the winds and the sea obey Him!”

Even human wrath will praise You; You will clothe Yourself with their remaining wrath.

Who enclosed the sea behind doors when it burst from the womb,when I made the clouds its garment and thick darkness its blanket,when I determined its boundaries and put its bars and doors in place,when I declared:“ You may come this far, but no farther; your proud waves stop here”?
