I took my troubles to the Lord; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer.

But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer.Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me.

Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away.Each time he said,“ My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

I cried out to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy mountain. Interlude

I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy.Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!

As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength.

I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry.He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.

In panic I cried out,“ I am cut off from the Lord!” But you heard my cry for mercy and answered my call for help.

In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free.

He said,“ I cried out to the Lord in my great trouble, and he answered me. I called to you from the land of the dead, and Lord, you heard me!

As my life was slipping away, I remembered the Lord. And my earnest prayer went out to you in your holy Temple.

And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us.And you are helping us by praying for us. Then many people will give thanks because God has graciously answered so many prayers for our safety.
