But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, And that thou hast taken my covenant in thy mouth,

但神对恶人说：“你怎敢传说我的律例，口中提到我的约呢？

但上帝对恶人说：“你怎敢传讲我的律例，口中提到我的约呢？

但神对恶人说：“你怎敢传讲我的律例，口中提到我的约呢？

但上帝对恶人说：“你怎能背诵我的律法，谈论我的约？

但神对恶人说：“你怎么敢述说我的律例，你的口怎么敢提到我的约呢？

但神对恶人说：“你凭什么讲述我的律例，口中提起我的约呢？

但神對惡人說：你怎敢傳說我的律例，口中提到我的約呢？

但上帝對惡人說：「你怎敢傳講我的律例，口中提到我的約呢？

但神對惡人說：「你怎敢傳講我的律例，口中提到我的約呢？

但上帝對惡人說：「你怎能背誦我的律法，談論我的約？

但神對惡人說：“你怎麼敢述說我的律例，你的口怎麼敢提到我的約呢？

對惡人呢、上帝卻說：『你有甚麼權利可以背誦我的律例，口中提到我的約呢？

但神對惡人說：「你憑什麼講述我的律例，口中提起我的約呢？

上帝語惡人曰、爾奚稱道我律、口言我約、

上帝語惡人曰、爾何假我律例、藉予聖教、

天主向惡人曰、爾為何傳述我之律法、口講我之盟約、

主語作惡者。何事研玉律。口頭誦盟約。心中存乖逆。

But to the wicked person, God says:“ What right have you to recite my laws or take my covenant on your lips?

But here is what God says to a sinful person.“ What right do you have to speak the words of my laws? How dare you speak the words of my covenant!

But to the wicked God says:“ What right have you to recite my statutes or take my covenant on your lips?

But God says to the wicked:“ Why bother reciting my decrees and pretending to obey my covenant?

But God says to the wicked:“ What right do you have to recite my statutes and to take my covenant on your lips?

But to the wicked God says,“ What right do you have to tell of My statutes And to take My covenant in your mouth?

But to the wicked God says:“ What right have you to declare My statutes, Or take My covenant in your mouth,

But God says to the wicked:“ What right do you have to recite My statutes and to take My covenant on your lips?

But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or[ that] thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?

God says this to the evildoer:“ How can you declare my commands, and talk about my covenant?

But to the wicked God says,“ What right do you have to declare my statutes, that you have taken my covenant on your lips,

And the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw nigh unto me, and with their mouth and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men which hath been taught them;

But they flattered him with their mouth, And lied unto him with their tongue.For their heart was not right with him, Neither were they faithful in his covenant.But he, being merciful, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: Yea, many a time turned he his anger away, And did not stir up all his wrath.

What unto me is the multitude of your sacrifices? saith Jehovah: I have had enough of the burnt- offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he- goats.When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to trample my courts?Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; new moon and sabbath, the calling of assemblies,— I cannot away with iniquity and the solemn meeting.Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth; they are a trouble unto me; I am weary of bearing them.And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you; yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

but I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage: lest by any means, after that I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.

There is no peace, saith Jehovah, to the wicked.

Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of Jehovah, the temple of Jehovah, the temple of Jehovah, are these.For if ye thoroughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye thoroughly execute justice between a man and his neighbor;if ye oppress not the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your own hurt:then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, from of old even for evermore.

Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and declare unto my people their transgression, and to the house of Jacob their sins.Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways: as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God, they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near unto God.Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find your own pleasure, and exact all your labors.Behold, ye fast for strife and contention, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye fast not this day so as to make your voice to be heard on high.Is such the fast that I have chosen? the day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head as a rush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to Jehovah?Is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

But certain also of the strolling Jews, exorcists, took upon them to name over them that had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, a chief priest, who did this.And the evil spirit answered and said unto them, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and mastered both of them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant;and I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me; I will bring them forth out of the land where they sojourn, but they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.

Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.

But if thou bearest the name of a Jew, and restest upon the law, and gloriest in God,and knowest his will, and approvest the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law,and art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them that are in darkness,a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having in the law the form of knowledge and of the truth;thou therefore that teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou rob temples?thou who gloriest in the law, through thy transgression of the law dishonorest thou God?For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you, even as it is written.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by thy name, and by thy name cast out demons, and by thy name do many mighty works?And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

forsaking the right way, they went astray, having followed the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the hire of wrong- doing;

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and truth.

Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers In the day that I took them by the hand to lead them forth out of the land of Egypt; For they continued not in my covenant, And I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

Seek ye Jehovah while he may be found; call ye upon him while he is near:let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto Jehovah, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah; who swear by the name of Jehovah, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness( for they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; Jehovah of hosts is his name):

The legs of the lame hang loose; So is a parable in the mouth of fools.

The friendship of Jehovah is with them that fear him; And he will show them his covenant.

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me cast out the mote out of thine eye; and lo, the beam is in thine own eye?Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
