彼敵人、心懷惡念兮、口尚虛詞、喉似破塋兮、舌則諂諛是施。

彼口中無正直、心懷奸惡、喉如陷坑、舌如油渦、

求主保我身。莫為敵所得。平易爾道路。扶我庶無蹶。

Look, you desire integrity in the inner man; you want me to possess wisdom.

The LORD says,“ These people are like soldiers who have readied their bows. Their tongues are always ready to shoot out lies. They have become powerful in the land, but they have not done so by honest means. Indeed, they do one evil thing after another and do not pay attention to me.Everyone must be on his guard around his friends. He must not even trust any of his relatives. For every one of them will find some way to cheat him. And all of his friends will tell lies about him.One friend deceives another and no one tells the truth. These people have trained themselves to tell lies. They do wrong and are unable to repent.They do one act of violence after another, and one deceitful thing after another. They refuse to pay attention to me,” says the LORD.

Your tongue carries out your destructive plans; it is as effective as a sharp razor, O deceiver.

The one who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his steps.

Woe to you! You are like unmarked graves, and people walk over them without realizing it!”

An evil man is rebellious to the core. He does not fear God,for he is too proud to recognize and give up his sin.The words he speaks are sinful and deceitful; he does not care about doing what is wise and right.He plans ways to sin while he lies in bed; he is committed to a sinful lifestyle; he does not reject what is evil.

They are filled with every kind of unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, malice. They are rife with envy, murder, strife, deceit, hostility. They are gossips,slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, contrivers of all sorts of evil, disobedient to parents,senseless, covenant- breakers, heartless, ruthless.

Men are nothing but a mere breath; human beings are unreliable. When they are weighed in the scales, all of them together are lighter than air.

I will not show partiality to anyone, nor will I confer a title on any man.for I do not know how to give honorary titles, if I did, my Creator would quickly do away with me.

They devise unjust schemes; they disguise a well-conceived plot. Man’s inner thoughts cannot be discovered.

People lie to one another; they flatter and deceive.May the LORD cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that boasts!

No! You plan how to do what is unjust; you deal out violence in the earth.The wicked turn aside from birth; liars go astray as soon as they are born.

Praise the LORD! I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the godly and the congregation.The LORD’s deeds are great, eagerly awaited by all who desire them.His work is majestic and glorious, and his faithfulness endures forever.

For we never appeared with flattering speech, as you know, nor with a pretext for greed– God is our witness–

But the Lord said to him,“ Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness.

For from within, out of the human heart, come evil ideas, sexual immorality, theft, murder,adultery, greed, evil, deceit, debauchery, envy, slander, pride, and folly.

“ Oh people of Jerusalem, purify your hearts from evil so that you may yet be delivered. How long will you continue to harbor up wicked schemes within you?

The human mind is more deceitful than anything else. It is incurably bad. Who can understand it?
