彼口中無正直、心懷奸惡、喉如陷坑、舌如油渦、

求主保我身。莫為敵所得。平易爾道路。扶我庶無蹶。

Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with malice. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongues they tell lies.

城裡的財主充滿了強暴，其中的居民也說假話；他們口中的舌頭是詭詐的。

看哪！你喜愛的是內心的誠實；在我內心的隱密處，你使我得智慧。

“他們彎曲舌頭，像彎弓一樣；在這地得勢的是虛謊，不是誠實；因為他們變本加厲地作惡，連我也不認識。”這是耶和華的宣告。“你們各人要提防自己的鄰舍，不要信靠兄弟；因為每一個兄弟都在欺騙人，每一個鄰舍都搬弄是非。他們各人都欺騙自己的鄰舍，不說誠實話。他們訓練自己的舌頭說謊話，竭力作孽，以致他們不能回轉（按照《馬索拉文本》，本句意思難確定；現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯）。欺凌加上欺凌，詭詐加上詭詐（按照《馬索拉文本》，“欺凌加上欺凌，詭詐加上詭詐”作“你的住所在詭詐中；在詭詐裡”；現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯），他們不肯認識我。”這是耶和華的宣告。

你圖謀毀滅，你的舌頭鋒利像剃刀，常弄詭詐。

諂媚鄰舍的人，是在他的腳下張設網羅。

你們有禍了！因為你們好像不顯露的墳墓，走在上面的人並不知道。”

惡人的罪過在他心中深處說話，他眼中也不怕神。（本節或譯：“我心中深處有話說，是關於惡人的罪過，他眼中不怕神”）罪過媚惑他，因此在他眼中看來，自己的罪孽不會揭發，也不會被恨惡。他口中的話語都是罪惡和詭詐，他不再是明慧的，也不再行善。他在床上密謀作惡，定意行在不善的道路上，並不棄絕惡事。

這些人充滿了各樣的不義、邪惡、貪心、陰險；滿懷嫉妒、兇殺、好鬥、欺詐、幸災樂禍；又是好說讒言的、毀謗人的、憎恨神的、凌辱人的、傲慢的、自誇的、製造惡事的、忤逆父母的、冥頑不靈的、不守信用的、冷酷無情的、沒有惻隱之心的。

卑賤的人真是虛空，高貴的人也是虛假，放在天平上就必升起；他們加在一起比空氣還輕。

我必不徇人的情面，也不奉承人，因為我不曉得怎樣奉承。不然，我的創造主很快就把我除去。”

他們圖謀奸惡，說：“我們設計了最精密的陰謀！”人的意念和心思實在深不可測。

他們彼此說謊，用諂媚的嘴唇說話，口是心非。願耶和華剪除一切說諂媚話的嘴唇，和說誇大話的舌頭。

不是的，你們心中策劃奸惡；你們的手在地上施行強暴（本句原文作“你們在地上稱出你們手中的強暴”）。惡人一出母胎，就走上歧路；他們一離母腹，就走偏了路，常說謊話。

你們要讚美耶和華。在正直人的議會中和大會裡，我要全心稱謝耶和華。耶和華的作為偉大，喜愛他作為的人都努力查究。他的作為滿有尊榮和威嚴，他的公義永遠長存。

我們從來不說奉承的話，這是你們知道的，神可以作證，我們並沒有藉故起貪心，

主對他說：“你們法利賽人把杯盤的外面洗淨，但你們裡面卻充滿了搶奪和邪惡。

因為從裡面，就是從人的心裡，發出惡念、淫亂、偷盜、兇殺、姦淫、貪心、邪惡、詭詐、放蕩、嫉妒、毀謗、驕傲、愚妄；

耶路撒冷啊！洗淨你心中的邪惡，使你可以得救！你心存惡念，要到幾時呢？

人心比萬物都詭詐，無法醫治；誰能識透呢？
