That he should still live for ever,[ and] not see corruption.

以致可以永远活着，不进坟墓。

使他永远活着，不见朽坏。

好使他永久存活，不看到阴坑。

以致可以永遠活著，不進墳墓。

使他永遠活著，不見朽壞。

好使他永久存活，不看到陰坑。

不能壽世而體不朽兮、

不能使之永久存活、不見朽壞、

生命無價寶。非財所能市。

so that they should live on forever and not see decay.

No one can pay enough to live forever and not rot in the grave.

that he should live on forever and never see the pit.

That he might live on eternally, That he might not undergo decay.

That he should continue to live eternally, And not see the Pit.

That he should still live alway, That he should not see corruption.

What man[ is he that] liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.

For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

All[ they that be] fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.

Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

[ There is] no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither[ hath he] power in the day of death: and[ there is] no discharge in[ that] war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

Wherefore he saith also in another[ psalm], Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.

Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

Your fathers, where[ are] they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?

He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.
