Why should I fear when evil days come, when wicked deceivers surround me—

Why should I be afraid when trouble comes? Why should I fear when sinners are all around me? They are the kind of people who want to take advantage of me.

Why should I fear in times of trouble, when the iniquity of those who cheat me surrounds me,

Why should I fear when trouble comes, when enemies surround me?

Why should I fear in times of trouble? The iniquity of my foes surrounds me.

Why should I fear in days of adversity, When the injustice of those who betray me surrounds me,

Why should I fear in the days of evil, When the iniquity at my heels surrounds me?

Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, When iniquity at my heels compasseth me about?

Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil,[ when] the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?

Why should I be afraid in times of trouble, when the sinful deeds of deceptive men threaten to overwhelm me?

Why should I fear in the days of evil, when iniquity at my heels surrounds me?

and said,‘ Don’t be afraid, Paul. You must stand before Caesar. And, look! God has graciously given you all those who are sailing with you.’

Who can bring an accusation against God’s elect? God is the One who justifies.Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the One who died, but even more, has been raised; He also is at the right hand of God and intercedes for us.

not being frightened in any way by your opponents. This is a sign of destruction for them, but of your deliverance— and this is from God.

They stir up strife, they lurk; they watch my steps while they wait to take my life.Will they escape in spite of such sin? God, bring down the nations in wrath.

Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff— they comfort me.

For my sins have flooded over my head; they are a burden too heavy for me to bear.

A wicked man’s iniquities entrap him; he is entangled in the ropes of his own sin.

He will be a snake by the road, a viper beside the path, that bites the horses’ heels so that its rider falls backward.

The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom should I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom should I be afraid?When evildoers came against me to devour my flesh, my foes and my enemies stumbled and fell.

But they never consider that I remember all their evil. Now their sins are all around them; they are right in front of My face.

For dogs have surrounded me; a gang of evildoers has closed in on me; they pierced my hands and my feet.

So don’t let my blood fall to the ground far from the Lord’s presence, for the king of Israel has come out to search for a flea, like one who pursues a partridge in the mountains.”

If you do nothing in a difficult time, your strength is limited.

Therefore, the wise person will keep silent at such a time, for the days are evil.

God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble.Therefore we will not be afraid, though the earth trembles and the mountains topple into the depths of the seas,

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.Be sure that all who are enraged against you will be ashamed and disgraced; those who contend with you will become as nothing and will perish.
