我列祖非仗兵刃得地、亦非恃己之勇力得勝、乃賴主之右手、主之聖臂、主面上之榮光、因蒙主喜悅、

親手逐諸夷。吾族蒙建立。諸夷皆衰落。吾族獨發達。

It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them.

They didn’t win the land with their swords. They didn’t gain success by their own power. Your powerful right hand and your mighty arm gave them victory. You gave them success because you loved them.

for not by their own sword did they win the land, nor did their own arm save them, but your right hand and your arm, and the light of your face, for you delighted in them.

They did not conquer the land with their swords; it was not their own strong arm that gave them victory. It was your right hand and strong arm and the blinding light from your face that helped them, for you loved them.

“耶和华喜爱你们、拣选你们，不是因为你们的人口比别的民族多——其实你们在万族中是最小的——而是因为祂爱你们，遵守祂向你们祖先所起的誓。因此，祂用大能的手把你们从受奴役的地方领出来，从埃及王法老手中救赎了你们。

我差黄蜂飞在你们前面，把亚摩利的两个王从你们面前赶走，没有动用你们一刀一弓。

你们切勿以为是凭自己的双手和能力致富的。要记住，是你们的上帝耶和华赐给你们致富的能力，为要坚立祂给你们祖先的誓约，正如今日的情形。

但耶和华只喜爱你们的祖先，从万族中拣选了他们的后裔——你们，正如今日的情形。

惊骇恐惧笼罩着他们。耶和华啊，你臂膀的大能吓得他们僵立如石，直到你的子民都安然走过，直到你买赎的子民都安然走过。

我的心啊！你为何沮丧？为何烦躁？要仰望上帝，因为我还要赞美祂——我的救主，我的上帝。

后来，利百加和我们的先祖以撒结婚，怀了双胞胎。在这对孩子还未出生，还没有显出谁善谁恶之前，上帝为了显明自己拣选人并不是按人的行为，而是按祂自己的旨意，便对利百加说：“将来大的要服侍小的。”正如圣经上说：“我爱雅各，厌恶以扫。”这样看来，我们该怎么下结论呢？难道上帝不公平吗？当然不是！祂曾对摩西说：“我要怜悯谁就怜悯谁，要恩待谁就恩待谁。”

我的心啊！你为何沮丧？为何烦躁？要仰望上帝，因为我还要赞美祂——我的救主，我的上帝。

因为祂爱你们的祖先，所以拣选你们，亲自用大能把你们从埃及领出来，赶走比你们强大的民族，领你们进入他们的土地，把他们的土地赐给你们作产业，正如今日的情形。

求你彰显你奇妙的慈爱，用右手拯救投靠你的人脱离仇敌。

你为何不伸出大能的右手？求你出手给他们致命的一击。

现在我知道耶和华拯救祂膏立的王，祂从圣天之上应允他，用右手的大能拯救他。

许多人说：“谁会善待我们呢？”耶和华啊，求你的圣容光照我们。

耶和华不会丢弃祂的子民，使自己的大名受损，祂乐意使你们做祂的子民。

他对我说：“这是耶和华对所罗巴伯讲的话。万军之耶和华说，‘不靠权势，不靠才能，乃靠我的灵。

如果耶和华喜悦我们，祂必把我们带到那片土地，将那奶蜜之乡赐给我们。

你以大能救赎了你的子民，就是雅各和约瑟的后代。（细拉）

我们不过是瓦器，里面却有这宝贝，要显明这莫大的能力是上帝的，而不是我们自己的。

用荣耀的臂膀扶持摩西，在他们面前把海水分开，使自己威名永存的那位在哪里？

耶和华说：“我曾爱你们。”你们却说：“你在何事上爱我们呢？”耶和华说：“以扫不是雅各的哥哥吗？但我却爱雅各，厌恶以扫。我使以扫的山岭荒凉，把他的地业留给旷野的豺狼。”

这树被砍倒，被焚烧，愿你发怒毁灭仇敌。
