主手驅逐異邦人、栽培我列祖、將彼滅絕、使我列祖蕃衍、

吾主古時恩。先輩遞相述。吾儕耳所聞。聖跡何烈烈。

With your hand you drove out the nations and planted our ancestors; you crushed the peoples and made our ancestors flourish.

By your power you drove out the nations. You gave our people homes in the land. You crushed the people who were there. And you made our people do well.

You drove out the pagan nations by your power and gave all the land to our ancestors. You crushed their enemies and set our ancestors free.

In order to plant them, you displaced the nations by your hand; in order to settle them, you brought disaster on the peoples.

All these kings and their land Joshua took at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.

I sent the hornet before you which drove them out from before you, also the two kings of the Amorites, but not with your sword or with your bow.

So they ate and were filled and grew fat, And delighted themselves in Your great goodness.“ Nevertheless they were disobedient And rebelled against You, Cast Your law behind their backs And killed Your prophets, who testified against them To turn them to Yourself; And they worked great provocations.Therefore You delivered them into the hand of their enemies, Who oppressed them; And in the time of their trouble, When they cried to You, You heard from heaven; And according to Your abundant mercies You gave them deliverers who saved them From the hand of their enemies.

And I will send hornets before you, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite from before you.

But the hand of the Lord was heavy on the people of Ashdod, and He ravaged them and struck them with tumors, both Ashdod and its territory.And when the men of Ashdod saw how it was, they said,“ The ark of the God of Israel must not remain with us, for His hand is harsh toward us and Dagon our god.”

Moreover I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own and move no more; nor shall the sons of wickedness oppress them anymore, as previously,

And Joshua said,“ By this you shall know that the living God is among you, and that He will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Hivites and the Perizzites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Jebusites:

To Him who struck down great kings, For His mercy endures forever;And slew famous kings, For His mercy endures forever—Sihon king of the Amorites, For His mercy endures forever;And Og king of Bashan, For His mercy endures forever—And gave their land as a heritage, For His mercy endures forever;A heritage to Israel His servant, For His mercy endures forever.

And it happened, as they fled before Israel and were on the descent of Beth Horon, that the Lord cast down large hailstones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than the children of Israel killed with the sword.
