主手驅逐異邦人、栽培我列祖、將彼滅絕、使我列祖蕃衍、

吾主古時恩。先輩遞相述。吾儕耳所聞。聖跡何烈烈。

By your power you drove out the nations. You gave our people homes in the land. You crushed the people who were there. And you made our people do well.

you with your own hand drove out the nations, but them you planted; you afflicted the peoples, but them you set free;

You drove out the pagan nations by your power and gave all the land to our ancestors. You crushed their enemies and set our ancestors free.

In order to plant them, you displaced the nations by your hand; in order to settle them, you brought disaster on the peoples.

They killed your prophets, who had warned them in order to turn them back to you; they committed awful blasphemies.So you delivered them into the hands of their enemies, who oppressed them. But when they were oppressed they cried out to you. From heaven you heard them, and in your great compassion you gave them deliverers, who rescued them from the hand of their enemies.

I will send the hornet ahead of you to drive the Hivites, Canaanites and Hittites out of your way.

As they fled before Israel on the road down from Beth Horon to Azekah, the Lord hurled large hailstones down on them, and more of them died from the hail than were killed by the swords of the Israelites.
