爾施大力、降災於異邦而驅逐之兮、爾使選民、安居厥所兮、

主手驅逐異邦人、栽培我列祖、將彼滅絕、使我列祖蕃衍、

吾主古時恩。先輩遞相述。吾儕耳所聞。聖跡何烈烈。

With your hand you drove out the nations and planted our ancestors; you crushed the peoples and made our ancestors flourish.

By your power you drove out the nations. You gave our people homes in the land. You crushed the people who were there. And you made our people do well.

you with your own hand drove out the nations, but them you planted; you afflicted the peoples, but them you set free;

You drove out the pagan nations by your power and gave all the land to our ancestors. You crushed their enemies and set our ancestors free.

In order to plant them, you displaced the nations by your hand; in order to settle them, you brought disaster on the peoples.

When Jehovah thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and shall cast out many nations before thee, the Hittite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;

And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because Jehovah, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.

Thou broughtest a vine out of Egypt: Thou didst drive out the nations, and plantedst it.Thou preparedst room before it, And it took deep root, and filled the land.The mountains were covered with the shadow of it, And the boughs thereof were like cedars of God.It sent out its branches unto the sea, And its shoots unto the River.

And he gave them the lands of the nations; And they took the labor of the peoples in possession:

So Jehovah gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.

So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that Jehovah spake unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land had rest from war.

Moreover thou gavest them kingdoms and peoples, which thou didst allot after their portions: so they possessed the land of Sihon, even the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan.Their children also multipliedst thou as the stars of heaven, and broughtest them into the land concerning which thou didst say to their fathers, that they should go in to possess it.So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the peoples of the land, that they might do with them as they would.And they took fortified cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all good things, cisterns hewn out, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit- trees in abundance: so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in thy great goodness.Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their back, and slew thy prophets that testified against them to turn them again unto thee, and they wrought great provocations.Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their adversaries, who distressed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours who saved them out of the hand of their adversaries.

And I will send the hornet before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.

But the hand of Jehovah was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with tumors, even Ashdod and the borders thereof.And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not abide with us; for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.

And I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place, and be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as at the first,

For the horses of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and Jehovah brought back the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel walked on dry land in the midst of the sea.

Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Hivite, and the Perizzite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Jebusite.

To him that smote great kings; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;And slew famous kings; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:Sihon king of the Amorites; For his lovingkindness endureth forever;And Og king of Bashan; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;And gave their land for a heritage; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;Even a heritage unto Israel his servant; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:

And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, while they were at the descent of Beth- horon, that Jehovah cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more who died with the hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.
