都因那辱骂毁谤人的声音，又因仇敌和报仇人的缘故。

因为咒骂和毁谤我的人讥笑我，仇敌报复我。

这是因辱骂者和亵渎者的声音，是因仇敌和报复者的缘故。

都因那辱罵毀謗人的聲音，又因仇敵和報仇人的緣故。

都因那嘲罵毁謗之人的聲音，又因仇敵和報仇之人的緣故。

這是因辱罵者和褻瀆者的聲音，是因仇敵和報復者的緣故。

乃因侮慢與詬詈者之聲、仇敵及報復者之勢兮、

皆因聞侮謗詬詈之聲、又因有仇敵加害於我、

此辱常蒙首。此恥常在目。

That’s because they laugh at me and attack me with their words. They want to get even with me.

at the sound of the taunter and reviler, at the sight of the enemy and the avenger.

All we hear are the taunts of our mockers. All we see are our vengeful enemies.

because of the taunts of the scorner and reviler, because of the enemy and avenger.

Because of the voice of one who taunts and reviles, Because of the presence of the enemy and the avenger.

Because of the voice of him who reproaches and reviles, Because of the enemy and the avenger.

For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth, By reason of the enemy and the avenger.

before the vindictive enemy who ridicules and insults me.

Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.

Who is it you have ridiculed and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel!By your messengers you have ridiculed the Lord. And you have said,‘ With my many chariots I have ascended the heights of the mountains, the utmost heights of Lebanon. I have cut down its tallest cedars, the choicest of its junipers. I have reached its remotest heights, the finest of its forests.

How long will the enemy mock you, God? Will the foe revile your name forever?

They told him,“ This is what Hezekiah says: This day is a day of distress and rebuke and disgrace, as when children come to the moment of birth and there is no strength to deliver them.It may be that the Lord your God will hear the words of the field commander, whom his master, the king of Assyria, has sent to ridicule the living God, and that he will rebuke him for the words the Lord your God has heard. Therefore pray for the remnant that still survives.”

Remember how the enemy has mocked you, Lord, how foolish people have reviled your name.

Give ear, Lord, and hear; open your eyes, Lord, and see; listen to all the words Sennacherib has sent to ridicule the living God.

Pay back into the laps of our neighbors seven times the contempt they have hurled at you, Lord.

Rise up, O God, and defend your cause; remember how fools mock you all day long.Do not ignore the clamor of your adversaries, the uproar of your enemies, which rises continually.
