Sacrifice and offering you did not desire— but my ears you have opened— burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require.

You didn’t want sacrifices and offerings. You didn’t require burnt offerings and sin offerings. You opened my ears so that I could hear you and obey you.

In sacrifice and offering you have not delighted, but you have given me an open ear. Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required.

You take no delight in sacrifices or offerings. Now that you have made me listen, I finally understand— you don’t require burnt offerings or sin offerings.

耶和華說：「你們獻上許多祭物，對我有什麼用呢？我厭煩公綿羊的燔祭和肥畜的脂肪，我不喜歡公牛、羊羔和公山羊的血。

所以，基督來到世上的時候曾說：「上帝啊，祭物和供物非你所悅，你為我預備了身體。你並非喜愛燔祭和贖罪祭。於是我說，『上帝啊，我來是要遵行你的旨意，我的事都記在聖經上了。』」基督首先說：「祭物、供物、燔祭和贖罪祭都不是你想要的，也不是你喜悅的。」這些都是依照律法獻上的。然後祂又說：「我來是要遵行你的旨意。」這樣，祂廢除了前者，為要設立後者。上帝的旨意是：耶穌基督只一次獻上自己的身體，便使我們永遠聖潔了。祭司都要天天站著供職，一次次地獻上同樣的祭物，只是這些祭物根本不能除罪。而基督一次獻上自己成為永遠的贖罪祭後，就坐在上帝的右邊，

撒母耳說：「耶和華喜歡燔祭和其他祭物，還是喜歡人們聽從祂的話？順服勝於獻祭，聽從耶和華勝過向祂獻上公羊的脂肪。

你不喜歡祭物，否則我會獻上，你也不喜愛燔祭。

上帝開啟他們的耳朵，用警告驚嚇他們，

即使你們獻上燔祭和素祭，我也不悅納；即使你們用肥美的牲畜獻上平安祭，我也不屑一顧。

以色列的上帝——萬軍之耶和華說：「你們把平安祭連同燔祭都拿去吃吧！因為我把你們祖先帶出埃及的時候，並沒有吩咐他們獻燔祭或其他祭物，只吩咐他們，『你們要聽從我的話，我就做你們的上帝，你們做我的子民；你們遵行我的吩咐，就必蒙福。』

我喜愛憐憫之心，而非祭物；我喜愛人認識我，勝於燔祭。

如果你們明白『我喜愛憐憫之心，而非祭物』這句經文的意義，就不會冤枉無辜了。

聖經上說，『我喜愛憐憫之心，而非祭物』，你們去揣摩這句話的意思吧。我來不是要召義人，乃是要召罪人。」

主人就要帶他到審判官面前，讓他靠著門或門框，用錐子為他穿耳洞。這樣，他就要永遠服侍主人。

主耶和華賜我教導的能力，使我知道用什麼話幫助疲乏的人。每天早晨，主喚醒我，叫我像受教者那樣側耳聆聽。主耶和華開了我的耳朵，我沒有悖逆，也沒有退縮。

「至於那些任意妄為、以行可憎之事為樂、宰牛就像殺人、獻羊羔就像打斷狗頸、獻穀物就像獻豬血、燒香就像頌讚偶像的人，

我責怪你，不是因為你的祭物，也不是因為你經常獻給我的燔祭。
