I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and your saving help. I do not conceal your love and your faithfulness from the great assembly.

I haven’t kept to myself that what you did for me was right. I have spoken about how faithful you were when you saved me. I haven’t hidden your love and your faithfulness from the whole community.

蓋既昧於天主之義、故惟求自立其義、而不服膺天主之義矣。

今日吾特向爾聲明、人之淪喪、吾無咎焉；蓋天主玄謨、吾已昭示於爾、曾無畏縮。

凡屬有益於爾、未嘗或隱、無論在眾前、或在私宅、諄諄誨爾、知無不言、勸化猶太及希臘人士、悔過自新、歸向天主、信賴吾主耶穌基督。

蓋吾不以福音為恥也。福音乃天主之神力、用以救度信徒、始于猶太、爰及希臘。蓋天主之正義、已藉福音而啟示矣。此正義乃肇於信德、而成於信德者也。經曰：『惟義者憑信德而生、』此之謂也。

吾謂基督之成為受割禮者之僕役、所以實踐天主所許於列祖之恩諾、而彰天主之至誠也。亦欲使異邦人民、感荷天主洪恩、而心歌腹詠焉。經云：『欲在萬民前、鼓琴詠爾名。』

蓋主之聖道已由爾處向外發揚、不僅在馬其頓亞該亞而已、即在其他各地、爾等之篤信天主，已風傳遐邇、已不須吾儕之自為鼓吹矣。

申言之、爾第以爾之口、承認耶穌為主、且以爾之心、篤信天主曾起之於死者之中；則爾之得救必矣。蓋中心信之、所以成義；口角傳之、所以蒙恩也。

天主之正義、惟憑信仰耶穌基督、而加於篤信者之身；無偏無倚、一視同仁。舉世莫非罪人、固未有能懷天主之明德者也。故人之稱義、惟憑耶穌基督之救贖；此實天主之慈恩、不勞而獲者也。蓋天主使耶穌為贖罪而犧牲、俾信賴其聖血者得蒙赦宥、亦所以彰其正義耳。吾人賴天主之寬容、宿罪全銷、重負頓釋。於是天主之正義、昌明於斯世。是天主使吾人信耶穌而成義、亦所以自彰其義也。

於是聖神及新婦曰：「望主速臨！」願聽眾咸曰：「望主速臨！」主曰：「渴者可來就我。從心所欲暢飲活泉之水。」

吾人常言、基督之降生斯世、為救罪人也。旨哉言乎、不我欺也。而罪人之中、吾其尤著者也。

普天之下、血氣之倫、咸將親睹、天主救恩！」

守盟樂道者。當為主所喜。

既見救恩、我心則慰念斯救恩、實爾所備；普天生靈、咸仰其惠；萬國之光、義塞之輝！』

而與之合為一體。蓋予自身了無仁義、律法亦不足為恃、惟天主為仁義之泉源、而所以致之者、則惟信仰基督而已矣。

懷主斯常樂。睟面盎於背。終身不承羞。俯仰無怍愧。

吾儕報爾佳音：天主嚮所許諾於吾祖者、已踐履於吾人。蓋天主已令耶穌復活矣。聖詠第二首所云：「汝乃吾子、誕於今日。」此之謂也。

蓋摩西所授者律法耳、至妙寵真諦、則由耶穌基督而溥施。

夫天主不惜以其惟一聖子賜之於世、俾凡信之者、得免淪亡、而獲永生、是其愛世之篤、為何如乎？蓋天主遣子入世非以判世、乃以濟世。
