My heart pounds, my strength fails me; even the light has gone from my eyes.

My heart pounds, and my strength is gone. My eyes can hardly see.

My heart throbs; my strength fails me, and the light of my eyes— it also has gone from me.

My heart beats wildly, my strength fails, and I am going blind.

My heart races, my strength leaves me, and even the light of my eyes has faded.

I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.

Mine eyes fail for thy salvation, and for the word of thy righteousness.

But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that[ was] in his hand, and dipped it in an honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.Then answered one of the people, and said, Thy father straitly charged the people with an oath, saying, Cursed[ be] the man that eateth[ any] food this day. And the people were faint.Then said Jonathan, My father hath troubled the land: see, I pray you, how mine eyes have been enlightened, because I tasted a little of this honey.

Mine eyes do fail with tears, my bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city.

As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure hath he turned into fear unto me.

For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul[ thirsteth] after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.

The crown is fallen[ from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!For this our heart is faint; for these[ things] our eyes are dim.

CAPH. My soul fainteth for thy salvation:[ but] I hope in thy word.Mine eyes fail for thy word, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?For I am become like a bottle in the smoke;[ yet] do I not forget thy statutes.
