The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright.

Sinners pull out their swords. They bend their bows. They want to kill poor and needy people. They plan to murder those who lead honest lives.

求主藏匿我、脫離惡人之陰謀、脫離為非黨類之擾亂、彼眾礪其舌鋒、猶如利刃、毒言出口、如箭離弦、暗中欲射正直人、突然射之、無所忌憚、彼眾相勉行惡、商議暗設網羅、自誇無人能見、籌思奸謀、自謂我輩已有定意、妙計亦已尋得、各人所藏之意念心思、深險莫測、

我盡力讚美主云、主歟、誰能如主救護困苦人、脫離欺之之強暴人、救護困苦人、窮乏人、免受人之搶劫、

彼得悟曰、我今誠知天主果遣其使者、拯我出希律手、不使猶太民遂其所望、

以刀殺約翰之兄雅各、見猶太人悅此、又執彼得、時乃除酵節、

謂大衛曰、爾較我尤義、我待爾以惡、爾報我以善、

有何先知而爾祖不窘逐之乎、預言義者將至之人、爾祖殺之、此義者、今爾已賣而殺之、

我父乎、請觀爾衣裾在我手、我割爾衣裾而不殺爾、爾由此可知可見我並無惡意、我未曾叛逆乎爾、未曾獲罪於爾、乃爾遍索我、欲害我命、

勿學該隱、該隱乃屬彼惡者而殺其弟、殺之何故、因己之行為惡、而弟之行為善、○

良善之人、兇暴者憾之、正直者求救其命、

希律不歸榮於天主、故主之使者、立擊之、為蟲所噬而氣絕、○

主目至潔、不欲觀妄為、不欲視惡行、今人作罪、作罪或作行欺詐之事主何為徒觀、惡人害較己尤義者、主何為默然不言乎、
