The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good.

Their mouths speak words that are evil and false. They do not act wisely or do what is good.

The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit; he has ceased to act wisely and do good.

Everything they say is crooked and deceitful. They refuse to act wisely or do good.

Consider, you senseless among the people; you fools, when will you be wise?

Everyone lies to his neighbor. They speak with flattering lips, and with a double heart.May Yahweh cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that boasts,

those who have turned back from following Yahweh, and those who haven’t sought Yahweh nor inquired after him.

The wicked go astray from the womb. They are wayward as soon as they are born, speaking lies.

One of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him.

Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan: and Saul swore,“ As Yahweh lives, he shall not be put to death.”Jonathan called David, and Jonathan showed him all those things. Then Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as before.

Samuel said to Saul,“ I will not return with you; for you have rejected Yahweh’s word, and Yahweh has rejected you from being king over Israel.”

For there is no faithfulness in their mouth. Their heart is destruction. Their throat is an open tomb. They flatter with their tongue.

Saul said, I will give her to him, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Therefore Saul said to David,“ You shall today be my son- in- law a second time.”

But as for those who turn away to their crooked ways, Yahweh will lead them away with the workers of iniquity. Peace be on Israel.

Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk.They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying,“ Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter whom you teach, for you aren’t partial to anyone.Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said,“ Why do you test me, you hypocrites?

But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.

Then Saul said,“ I have sinned. Return, my son David; for I will no more do you harm, because my life was precious in your eyes today. Behold, I have played the fool, and have erred exceedingly.”

Now Yahweh’s Spirit departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from Yahweh troubled him.

Samuel said to Saul,“ You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of Yahweh your God, which he commanded you; for now Yahweh would have established your kingdom on Israel forever.But now your kingdom will not continue. Yahweh has sought for himself a man after his own heart, and Yahweh has appointed him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept that which Yahweh commanded you.”

They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent. Viper’s poison is under their lips. Selah.

God’s Spirit came mightily on Saul when he heard those words, and his anger burned hot.He took a yoke of oxen, and cut them in pieces, and sent them throughout all the borders of Israel by the hand of messengers, saying,“ Whoever doesn’t come out after Saul and after Samuel, so shall it be done to his oxen.” The dread of Yahweh fell on the people, and they came out as one man.He counted them in Bezek; and the children of Israel were three hundred thousand, and the men of Judah thirty thousand.They said to the messengers who came,“ Tell the men of Jabesh Gilead,‘ Tomorrow, by the time the sun is hot, you will be rescued.’” The messengers came and told the men of Jabesh; and they were glad.Therefore the men of Jabesh said,“ Tomorrow we will come out to you, and you shall do with us all that seems good to you.”On the next day, Saul put the people in three companies; and they came into the middle of the camp in the morning watch, and struck the Ammonites until the heat of the day. Those who remained were scattered, so that no two of them were left together.The people said to Samuel,“ Who is he who said,‘ Shall Saul reign over us?’ Bring those men, that we may put them to death!”Saul said,“ No man shall be put to death today; for today Yahweh has rescued Israel.”
