不肖之人性怙惡。赫赫天主不在目。

In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin.

They praise themselves so much that they can’t see their sin or hate it.

For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.

In their blind conceit, they cannot see how wicked they really are.

For with his flattering opinion of himself, he does not discover and hate his iniquity.

For the wicked boasts of his heart’s cravings. He blesses the greedy and condemns Yahweh.

Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim. Because you have rejected Yahweh’s word, he has also rejected you from being king.”Saul said to Samuel,“ I have sinned; for I have transgressed the commandment of Yahweh, and your words, because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they scoffed at him.He said to them,“ You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts. For that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

The heart is deceitful above all things and it is exceedingly corrupt. Who can know it?

A merchant has dishonest scales in his hand. He loves to defraud.Ephraim said,“ Surely I have become rich, I have found myself wealth. In all my wealth they won’t find in me any iniquity that is sin.”

So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against Yahweh, because of Yahweh’s word, which he didn’t keep; and also because he asked counsel of one who had a familiar spirit, to inquire,and didn’t inquire of Yahweh. Therefore he killed him, and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.

But he, desiring to justify himself, asked Jesus,“ Who is my neighbor?”

For being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn’t subject themselves to the righteousness of God.
