我遭急難、求主憐恤、我因憂慮、面目衰枯、身心亦復如是、

昔曾承主恩。綽綽有餘裕。何曾將吾身。委為敵人俎。

Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress; my eyes grow weak with sorrow, my soul and body with grief.

Lord, have mercy on me. I’m in deep trouble. I’m so sad I can hardly see. My whole body grows weak with sadness.

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax; it is melted within my breast;my strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to my jaws; you lay me in the dust of death.

For my soul is full of troubles, and my life draws near to Sheol.I am counted among those who go down to the pit; I am a man who has no strength,like one set loose among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, like those whom you remember no more, for they are cut off from your hand.

Our eyes failed, ever watching vainly for help; in our watching we watched for a nation which could not save.

For my days pass away like smoke, and my bones burn like a furnace.My heart is struck down like grass and has withered; I forget to eat my bread.Because of my loud groaning my bones cling to my flesh.

O Lord, rebuke me not in your anger, nor discipline me in your wrath!For your arrows have sunk into me, and your hand has come down on me.There is no soundness in my flesh because of your indignation; there is no health in my bones because of my sin.For my iniquities have gone over my head; like a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.My wounds stink and fester because of my foolishness,I am utterly bowed down and prostrate; all the day I go about mourning.For my sides are filled with burning, and there is no soundness in my flesh.I am feeble and crushed; I groan because of the tumult of my heart.O Lord, all my longing is before you; my sighing is not hidden from you.My heart throbs; my strength fails me, and the light of my eyes— it also has gone from me.

For all the day long I have been stricken and rebuked every morning.

Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners in affliction and in irons,

that which my lips uttered and my mouth promised when I was in trouble.

For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly clings to the ground.

My eye has grown dim from vexation, and all my members are like a shadow.

“ Man is also rebuked with pain on his bed and with continual strife in his bones,so that his life loathes bread, and his appetite the choicest food.His flesh is so wasted away that it cannot be seen, and his bones that were not seen stick out.His soul draws near the pit, and his life to those who bring death.
