Because of all my enemies, I am the utter contempt of my neighbors and an object of dread to my closest friends— those who see me on the street flee from me.

My neighbors make fun of me because I have so many enemies. My closest friends are afraid of me. People who see me on the street run away from me.

Because of all my adversaries I have become a reproach, especially to my neighbors, and an object of dread to my acquaintances; those who see me in the street flee from me.

惄惄心如擣。悒悒氣消沈。疚心如疾首。愁蒸雙目昏。

聖怒加吾身。風濤不堪當。

怒濤滅我頂。何日見恩撫。

詎知天主。將射彼逆。突然一箭。恰中其的。

求吾主之惠然來臨兮。濟此煢獨。嗟小子之多敵兮。微主其誰相贖。夫主固知予之窘狀兮。一身受垢而蒙辱。吾敵無數兮。悉在爾目。

然此亦所以應驗先知所紀耳。』至是、門徒盡離耶穌、奔逃四散矣。

幸災樂禍。竊竊私議。病入膏肓。彼也不起。

必有兄付其弟於死、父付其子、甚有兒女起而攻其父母、而置之於死者焉。為吾名故、爾將見惡於眾、惟忍堅到底、舍生不渝者、必得濟焉。

但聞籲主而見拯兮。焉有倚主而蒙羞。

至是眾徒皆棄之而遁。

蓋基督未嘗以悅己為事。經云：『人之詬爾、我則受之。』

更有人忍受戲弄鞭撻、桎梏縲絏、種種磨煉、

爾等若果因基督之名而受唾罵、福莫大焉！蓋誠能如此、則光榮大能之聖神、天主之聖神、以爾為安宅矣。

我首次提審時、竟無一人為我辯護；同人皆紛紛棄我而去。願主曲恕其行。

過者搖首而誚之曰：『吁、爾既能毀聖殿、而於三日內復建之、蓋自救歟！爾果為天主之子、盍自脫於架。』司祭長經生耆老亦嘲曰：『彼能救人、不能救己。彼非義塞之王乎？盍自脫於架、俾我信之。彼既依恃天主、苟為天主所寵、天主當來救護、以彼自稱天主子故。』即同釘之盜、亦隨聲附和、加以嗤笑焉。

舊恩今安在。信誓豈無憑。爾僕蒙大辱。吾主寧不矜。

因此亦宜出而就之於營外、而與之共受垢辱。

伯鐸祿且咒且誓曰：『吾實不識其人。』雞即鳴矣。
