The Lord is my rock and my place of safety. He is the God who saves me. My God is my rock. I go to him for safety. He is like a shield to me. He’s the power that saves me. He’s my place of safety.

People think my life is over. I’m like someone who doesn’t have any strength.People treat me as if I were dead. I’m like those who have been killed and are now in the grave. You don’t even remember them anymore. They are cut off from your care.It’s as if you have put me deep down in the grave. It’s as if you have put me in that deep, dark place.

Then he threw him into the Abyss. He locked it and sealed him in. This was to keep Satan from causing the nations to believe his lies anymore. Satan will be locked away until the 1,000 years are ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.

God has set me free. He has kept me from going down into the darkness of the grave. So I’ll live to enjoy the light of life.’

People in the grave can’t praise you. Dead people can’t sing praise to you. Those who go down to the grave can’t hope for you to be faithful to them.

I said,“ What good will come if I become silent in death? What good will come if I go down into the grave? Can the dust of my dead body praise you? Can it tell how faithful you are?

“ Trust in the Lord forever. The Lord himself is the Rock. The Lord will keep us safe forever.

Lord, you have seen this. Don’t be silent. Lord, don’t be far away from me.

My God, I cry out in the daytime. But you don’t answer. I cry out at night. But you don’t let me sleep.

I cried out to God for help. I cried out to God to hear me.
