雖有軍兵列營以攻我、我心亦不懼、雖遭爭戰、我亦安然、

大軍雖當前。吾亦無惴慄。中君既安泰。威武焉能屈。

Even if an army attacks me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if war breaks out against me, I will still trust in God.

Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident.

He said:“ Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you:‘ Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.

without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved— and that by God.

But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed.“ Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.”

Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.

Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord.For we live by faith, not by sight.We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

Should not your piety be your confidence and your blameless ways your hope?

“ See, it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work. And it is I who have created the destroyer to wreak havoc;no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord.

“ All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish.Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?As it is written:“ For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Samuel said to Saul,“ Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?”“ I am in great distress,” Saul said.“ The Philistines are fighting against me, and God has departed from me. He no longer answers me, either by prophets or by dreams. So I have called on you to tell me what to do.”Samuel said,“ Why do you consult me, now that the Lord has departed from you and become your enemy?

Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven.The great dragon was hurled down— that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:“ Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

The righteous will see and fear; they will laugh at you, saying,

When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city.“ Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.“ Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered.“ Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”And Elisha prayed,“ Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
