My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish?

My God, my God, why have you deserted me? Why do you seem so far away when I need you to save me? Why do you seem so far away that you can’t hear my groans?

And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying,“ Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is translated,“ My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear,

For my sighing comes before I eat, And my groanings pour out like water.

For dogs have surrounded Me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet;

For the Lord will not forsake His people, for His great name’s sake, because it has pleased the Lord to make you His people.

Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said,“ I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Vindicate me, O God, And plead my cause against an ungodly nation; Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man!For You are the God of my strength; Why do You cast me off? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill And to Your tabernacle.Then I will go to the altar of God, To God my exceeding joy; And on the harp I will praise You, O God, my God.Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.

I am feeble and severely broken; I groan because of the turmoil of my heart.

Saying,“ God has forsaken him; Pursue and take him, for there is none to deliver him.”

For the Lord loves justice, And does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.

When I kept silent, my bones grew old Through my groaning all the day long.For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was turned into the drought of summer. Selah

Why do You stand afar off, O Lord? Why do You hide in times of trouble?

As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God.My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?

Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.

Be not far from Me, For trouble is near; For there is none to help.

Then He said to them,“ These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.”

And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord; I say,“ You are my God.”My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, And from those who persecute me.Make Your face shine upon Your servant; Save me for Your mercies’ sake.

I bring My righteousness near, it shall not be far off; My salvation shall not linger. And I will place salvation in Zion, For Israel My glory.

We all growl like bears, And moan sadly like doves; We look for justice, but there is none; For salvation, but it is far from us.

Do not gather my soul with sinners, Nor my life with bloodthirsty men,
