Though they plot evil against you and devise wicked schemes, they cannot succeed.

Your enemies make evil plans against you. They think up evil things to do. But they can’t succeed.

But that it spread no further among the people, let us threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.And they called them, and charged them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

For I have heard the defaming of many, Terror on every side: While they took counsel together against me, They devised to take away my life.

saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said while he was yet alive, After three days I rise again.Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest haply his disciples come and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: and the last error will be worse than the first.

And he said unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise iniquity, and that give wicked counsel in this city;

And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them,saying, We strictly charged you not to teach in this name: and behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.
