The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.

The rules of the Lord are right. They give joy to our hearts. The commands of the Lord shine brightly. They give light to our minds.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said,“ You shall not covet.”

When they have a difficulty, they come to me, and I judge between one and another; and I make known the statutes of God and His laws.”

I have done justice and righteousness; Do not leave me to my oppressors.

Behold, I long for Your precepts; Revive me in Your righteousness.

And you shall rejoice in your feast, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant and the Levite, the stranger and the fatherless and the widow, who are within your gates.

Your statutes have been my songs In the house of my pilgrimage.

Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law.

I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.

I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

But sin, that it might appear sin, was producing death in me through what is good, so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful.For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin.

Indeed you are called a Jew, and rest on the law, and make your boast in God,and know His will, and approve the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law,and are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness,an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having the form of knowledge and truth in the law.

My lips shall utter praise, For You teach me Your statutes.
