盛矣哉。雅瑋之為德也。以仁報仁。以直報直。

to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the devious you show yourself shrewd.

To those who are pure you show that you are pure. But to those whose paths are crooked you show that you are clever.

with the purified you show yourself pure; and with the crooked you make yourself seem tortuous.

with the pure you prove yourself pure, but with the crooked you prove yourself shrewd.

With the pure You show Yourself pure, And with the crooked You show Yourself astute.

With the pure You will show Yourself pure; And with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd.

With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure; And with the perverse thou wilt show thyself froward.

You prove to be reliable to one who is blameless, but you prove to be deceptive to one who is perverse.

With the pure, you will show yourself pure. With the crooked you will show yourself shrewd.

The Lord mocks the mockers but is gracious to the humble.

“ And if you fail to learn the lesson and continue your hostility toward me,then I myself will be hostile toward you. I will personally strike you with calamity seven times over for your sins.

“ If in spite of all this you still refuse to listen and still remain hostile toward me,then I will give full vent to my hostility. I myself will punish you seven times over for your sins.

There will be trouble and calamity for everyone who keeps on doing what is evil— for the Jew first and also for the Gentile.

He loved to curse others; now you curse him. He never blessed others; now don’t you bless him.Cursing is as natural to him as his clothing, or the water he drinks, or the rich food he eats.Now may his curses return and cling to him like clothing; may they be tied around him like a belt.”

There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you.

Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself. For a day of anger is coming, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.He will judge everyone according to what they have done.
