求主以手救我、脫離此世界之人、彼眾今生享福、主賜之財寶、滿其所欲、子孫眾多、又將盈餘留於後裔、

更望賜提撕。俾與鄉願隔。鄉願生斯世。但為斯世活。以主無盡藏。暢恣其口腹。金玉既滿堂。有子萬事足。積蓄遺兒孫。繩繩相承續。

By your hand save me from such people, Lord, from those of this world whose reward is in this life. May what you have stored up for the wicked fill their bellies; may their children gorge themselves on it, and may there be leftovers for their little ones.

Lord, by your power save me from people like that. They belong to this world. They get their reward in this life. May what you have stored up for evil people fill their bellies. May their children’s stomachs be filled with it. And may there even be leftovers for their little ones.

from men by your hand, O Lord, from men of the world whose portion is in this life. You fill their womb with treasure; they are satisfied with children, and they leave their abundance to their infants.

By the power of your hand, O Lord, destroy those who look to this world for their reward. But satisfy the hunger of your treasured ones. May their children have plenty, leaving an inheritance for their descendants.

LORD, use your power to deliver me from these murderers, from the murderers of this world! They enjoy prosperity; you overwhelm them with the riches they desire. They have many children, and leave their wealth to their offspring.

“‘ Son,’ Abraham said,‘ remember that during your life you received your good things, just as Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here, while you are in agony.

Then I’ll say to myself,“ You have many goods stored up for many years. Take it easy; eat, drink, and enjoy yourself.”’“ But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your life is demanded of you. And the things you have prepared— whose will they be?’“ That’s how it is with the one who stores up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”

If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own. However, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of it, the world hates you.

For when he dies, he will take nothing at all; his wealth will not follow him down.Though he blesses himself during his lifetime— and you are acclaimed when you do well for yourself—he will go to the generation of his ancestors; they will never see the light.

“ The master praised the unrighteous manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the children of this age are more shrewd than the children of light in dealing with their own people.

But it was he who filled their houses with good things. The counsel of the wicked is far from me!

“ You are from below,” he told them,“ I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.

I have given them your word. The world hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

Even if his children increase, they are destined for the sword; his descendants will never have enough food.Those who survive him will be buried by the plague, yet their widows will not weep for them.Though he piles up silver like dust and heaps up fine clothing like clay—he may heap it up, but the righteous will wear it, and the innocent will divide up his silver.

Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this?

Yes, a person goes about like a mere shadow. Indeed, they rush around in vain, gathering possessions without knowing who will get them.

Why do the wicked continue to live, growing old and becoming powerful?Their children are established while they are still alive, and their descendants, before their eyes.Their homes are secure and free of fear; no rod from God strikes them.Their bulls breed without fail; their cows calve and do not miscarry.They let their little ones run around like lambs; their children skip about,singing to the tambourine and lyre and rejoicing at the sound of the flute.They spend their days in prosperity and go down to Sheol in peace.Yet they say to God,“ Leave us alone! We don’t want to know your ways.Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him, and what will we gain by pleading with him?”

You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.They are from the world. Therefore what they say is from the world, and the world listens to them.

“‘ Father,’ he said,‘ then I beg you to send him to my father’s house—because I have five brothers— to warn them, so that they won’t also come to this place of torment.’

For what does he care about his family once he is dead, when the number of his months has run out?

The tents of robbers are safe, and those who trouble God are secure; God holds them in his hands.

You have lived luxuriously on the earth and have indulged yourselves. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.

if you seek it like silver and search for it like hidden treasure,

For I envied the arrogant; I saw the prosperity of the wicked.They have an easy time until they die, and their bodies are well fed.They are not in trouble like others; they are not afflicted like most people.Therefore, pride is their necklace, and violence covers them like a garment.Their eyes bulge out from fatness; the imaginations of their hearts run wild.

“ The kingdom of heaven is like treasure, buried in a field, that a man found and reburied. Then in his joy he goes and sells everything he has and buys that field.

Look at them— the wicked! They are always at ease, and they increase their wealth.
