Let a righteous man strike me— that is a kindness; let him rebuke me— that is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it, for my prayer will still be against the deeds of evildoers.

If a godly person hit me, it would be an act of kindness. If they would correct me, it would be like pouring olive oil on my head. I wouldn’t say no to it. I will always pray against the things that sinful people do.

It is better to listen to the rebuke of a wise person Than for one to listen to the song of fools.

Brothers and sisters, even if a person is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual are to restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you are not tempted as well.

Like an earring of gold and a jewelry piece of fine gold, Is a wise person who offers rebukes to a listening ear.

For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light; And rebukes for discipline are the way of life

But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned.For prior to the coming of some men from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he began to withdraw and separate himself, fearing those from the circumcision.The rest of the Jews joined him in hypocrisy, with the result that even Barnabas was carried away by their hypocrisy.But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in the presence of all,“ If you, being a Jew, live like the Gentiles and not like the Jews, how is it that you compel the Gentiles to live like Jews?

Strike a scoffer and the naive may become clever, But rebuke one who has understanding, and he will gain knowledge.

Without consultation, plans are frustrated, But with many counselors they succeed.

As he was talking with him, the king said to him,“ Have we appointed you to be a royal counselor? Stop! Why should you be put to death?” Then the prophet stopped and said,“ I know that God has planned to destroy you, because you have done this and have not listened to my counsel.”

Better is open rebuke Than love that is concealed.Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But deceitful are the kisses of an enemy.

this will not become an obstacle to you, or a troubled heart to my lord, both by having shed blood without cause and by my lord’s having avenged himself. When the Lord deals well with my lord, then remember your slave.”Then David said to Abigail,“ Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who sent you this day to meet me,and blessed be your discernment, and blessed be you, who have kept me this day from bloodshed and from avenging myself by my own hand.Nevertheless, as the Lord God of Israel lives, who has restrained me from harming you, if you had not come quickly to meet me, there certainly would not have been left to Nabal until the morning light as much as one male.”

But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

A fool rejects his father’s discipline, But he who complies with rebuke is sensible.

Do not rebuke a scoffer, or he will hate you; Rebuke a wise person and he will love you.Give instruction to a wise person and he will become still wiser; Teach a righteous person and he will increase his insight.

Those whom I love, I rebuke and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows.

By Your favor do good to Zion; Build the walls of Jerusalem.

At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah and said to him,“ Because you have relied on the king of Aram and have not relied on the Lord your God, for that reason the army of the king of Aram has escaped from your hand.Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubim an immense army with very many chariots and horsemen? Yet because you relied on the Lord, He handed them over to you.For the eyes of the Lord roam throughout the earth, so that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. You have acted foolishly in this. Indeed, from now on you will have wars.”Then Asa was angry with the seer and put him in prison, for he was enraged at him for this. And Asa mistreated some of the people at the same time.

Do good, Lord, to those who are good And to those who are upright in their hearts.

Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;and the prayer of faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. A prayer of a righteous person, when it is brought about, can accomplish much.

You have struck and killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, you have taken his wife as your wife, and you have slaughtered him with the sword of the sons of Ammon.Now then, the sword shall never leave your house, because you have despised Me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.’This is what the Lord says:‘ Behold, I am going to raise up evil against you from your own household; I will even take your wives before your eyes and give them to your companion, and he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight.Indeed, you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, and in open daylight.’ ”Then David said to Nathan,“ I have sinned against the Lord.” And Nathan said to David,“ The Lord also has allowed your sin to pass; you shall not die.

The Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains;but when he was in Rome, he eagerly searched for me and found me—the Lord grant to him to find mercy from the Lord on that day— and you know very well what services he rendered at Ephesus.
