You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor, but the Lord is their refuge.

貧人之計爾曹敗之、惟耶和華為其庇所兮、

貧乏者流、賴耶和華、範之衛之、爰有惡人、哂之非之兮。

窮苦人之計謀、任爾藐視、主乃保護之、

平生侮貧人。貧人主所寵。

You who do evil keep poor people from succeeding. But the Lord is their place of safety.

You would shame the plans of the poor, but the Lord is his refuge.

The wicked frustrate the plans of the oppressed, but the Lord will protect his people.

You sinners frustrate the plans of the oppressed, but the LORD is his refuge.

You would put to shame the plan of the poor, But the Lord is his refuge.

You shame the counsel of the poor, But the Lord is his refuge.

Ye put to shame the counsel of the poor, Because Jehovah is his refuge.

You sinners frustrate the plans of the afflicted, but the Lord is his refuge.

Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD[ is] his refuge.

You want to humiliate the oppressed, even though the LORD is their shelter.

You frustrate the plan of the poor, because Yahweh is his refuge.

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

How long will you people turn my glory into shame? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods

My bones suffer mortal agony as my foes taunt me, saying to me all day long,“ Where is your God?”

Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?”

and in the presence of his associates and the army of Samaria, he said,“ What are those feeble Jews doing? Will they restore their wall? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they finish in a day? Can they bring the stones back to life from those heaps of rubble— burned as they are?”Tobiah the Ammonite, who was at his side, said,“ What they are building— even a fox climbing up on it would break down their wall of stones!”Hear us, our God, for we are despised. Turn their insults back on their own heads. Give them over as plunder in a land of captivity.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

“‘ Because you have said,“ These two nations and countries will be ours and we will take possession of them,” even though I the Lord was there,

“ Say to Hezekiah king of Judah: Do not let the god you depend on deceive you when he says,‘ Jerusalem will not be given into the hands of the king of Assyria.’Surely you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all the countries, destroying them completely. And will you be delivered?

and saying,“ You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!”In the same way the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders mocked him.“ He saved others,” they said,“ but he can’t save himself! He’s the king of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him.He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said,‘ I am the Son of God.’”

Many are saying of me,“ God will not deliver him.”

All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads.“ He trusts in the Lord,” they say,“ let the Lord rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him.”

But as for me, I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my help and my deliverer; you are my God, do not delay.

I cry to you, Lord; I say,“ You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”

God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.
