所罗门向耶和华献平安祭，牛二万二千头，羊十二万只；这样，王和以色列众人为耶和华的殿举行了奉献典礼。那一天，因为耶和华面前的铜祭坛太小，容不下燔祭、素祭和平安祭牲的脂肪，王就把耶和华殿前院子当中的地方分别为圣，在那里献燔祭、素祭和平安祭牲的脂肪。

众人看见了，就面伏于地，说：“耶和华是神！耶和华是神！”

他必使你的公义好像光发出，使你的公正如日中天。

锡安哪！起来，发光，因为你的光已经来到，耶和华的荣耀已升起来照耀你。

求你按着你的美意善待锡安；求你修筑耶路撒冷的城墙。那时，你必悦纳公义的祭、燔祭和全牲的燔祭；那时，人必把公牛献在你的祭坛上。

以利亚走近众人说：“你们三心两意，要到几时呢？如果耶和华是神，你们就应当随从耶和华；如果巴力是神，你们就应当随从巴力。”众人一句话也不回答。

第二天，他们向耶和华献祭，他们向耶和华献上燔祭；那一天他们献了公牛一千头、公绵羊一千只、羊羔一千只，以及同献的奠祭，又为以色列众人献了许多祭。
