God has promised in his holiness:“ With exultation I will divide up Shechem and portion out the Valley of Succoth.

祈爾賜佑。祈爾垂聽。引手拯拔。爾之所親。

God has spoken from his sanctuary:“ In triumph I will parcel out Shechem and measure off the Valley of Sukkoth.

God has spoken from his temple. He has said,“ I will win the battle. Then I will divide up the land around Shechem. I will divide up the Valley of Sukkoth.

God has promised this by his holiness:“ I will divide up Shechem with joy. I will measure out the valley of Succoth.

God has spoken in his sanctuary:“ I will celebrate! I will divide up Shechem. I will apportion the Valley of Succoth.

The Lord God has sworn by his holiness that, behold, the days are coming upon you, when they shall take you away with hooks, even the last of you with fishhooks.

Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem and summoned the elders, the heads, the judges, and the officers of Israel. And they presented themselves before God.

And what more can David say to you? For there is none like you, and there is no God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.And who is like your people Israel, the one nation on earth whom God went to redeem to be his people, making himself a name and doing for them great and awesome things by driving out before your people, whom you redeemed for yourself from Egypt, a nation and its gods?And you established for yourself your people Israel to be your people forever. And you, O Lord, became their God.And now, O Lord God, confirm forever the word that you have spoken concerning your servant and concerning his house, and do as you have spoken.And your name will be magnified forever, saying,‘ The Lord of hosts is God over Israel,’ and the house of your servant David will be established before you.For you, O Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, have made this revelation to your servant, saying,‘ I will build you a house.’ Therefore your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you.And now, O Lord God, you are God, and your words are true, and you have promised this good thing to your servant.Now therefore may it please you to bless the house of your servant, so that it may continue forever before you. For you, O Lord God, have spoken, and with your blessing shall the house of your servant be blessed forever.”

So they set apart Kedesh in Galilee in the hill country of Naphtali, and Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim, and Kiriath-arba( that is, Hebron) in the hill country of Judah.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Once for all I have sworn by my holiness; I will not lie to David.His offspring shall endure forever, his throne as long as the sun before me.

His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.

Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,

So he said to the men of Succoth,“ Please give loaves of bread to the people who follow me, for they are exhausted, and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna, the kings of Midian.”And the officials of Succoth said,“ Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna already in your hand, that we should give bread to your army?”

The territory of Manasseh reached from Asher to Michmethath, which is east of Shechem. Then the boundary goes along southward to the inhabitants of En-tappuah.

But Jacob journeyed to Succoth, and built himself a house and made booths for his livestock. Therefore the name of the place is called Succoth.
