Lot lifted up his eyes, and saw all the plain of the Jordan, that it was well- watered everywhere, before Yahweh destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the garden of Yahweh, like the land of Egypt, as you go to Zoar.

Now the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinners against Yahweh.

Thorns and briers will come up on my people’s land; yes, on all the houses of joy in the joyous city.For the palace will be forsaken. The populous city will be deserted. The hill and the watchtower will be for dens forever, a delight for wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks,until the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is considered a forest.

that all of its land is sulfur, salt, and burning, that it is not sown, doesn’t produce, nor does any grass grow in it, like the overthrow of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, which Yahweh overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath.Even all the nations will say,“ Why has Yahweh done this to this land? What does the heat of this great anger mean?”Then men will say,“ Because they abandoned the covenant of Yahweh, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them out of the land of Egypt,and went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods that they didn’t know and that he had not given to them.Therefore Yahweh’s anger burned against this land, to bring on it all the curses that are written in this book.Yahweh rooted them out of their land in anger, in wrath, and in great indignation, and thrust them into another land, as it is today.”

Then Yahweh rained on Sodom and on Gomorrah sulfur and fire from Yahweh out of the sky.He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew on the ground.

But the miry places of it, and its marshes, will not be healed. They will be given up to salt.
