Because they rebelled against the words of God, And contemned the counsel of the Most High:

不敬天命。遘此鞠凶。

because they rebelled against God’s commands and despised the plans of the Most High.

That’s because they hadn’t obeyed the commands of God. They had refused to follow the plans of the Most High God.

for they had rebelled against the words of God, and spurned the counsel of the Most High.

They would none of my counsel, They despised all my reproof.Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, And be filled with their own devices.

Wherefore the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Amaziah, and he sent unto him a prophet, who said unto him, Why hast thou sought after the gods of the people, which have not delivered their own people out of thy hand?And it came to pass, as he talked with him, that the king said unto him, Have we made thee of the king’s counsel? forbear; why shouldest thou be smitten? Then the prophet forbare, and said, I know that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not hearkened unto my counsel.

And even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up unto a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

Thou wilt guide me with thy counsel, And afterward receive me to glory.

God setteth the solitary in families: He bringeth out the prisoners into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a parched land.

that say, Let him make speed, let him hasten his work, that we may see it; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!

And the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things; and they scoffed at him.

The joy of our heart is ceased; Our dance is turned into mourning.The crown is fallen from our head: Woe unto us! for we have sinned.For this our heart is faint; For these things our eyes are dim;

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, And lifteth up the needy from the dunghill;That he may set him with princes, Even with the princes of his people.He maketh the barren woman to keep house, And to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye Jehovah.
