然而，他們很快忘了祂的作為，不願等候祂的引導。

可是他們很快就忘記了他的作為，不仰望他的意旨，

但他們很快就忘了他的作為，不等候着他的意旨，

但他們很快就忘記了他的作為，也沒有等候他的帶領。

遽爾忘其作為、不俟其旨兮、

厥後斯民、忘其經綸、不俟其命兮、

閱時未久、又忘主之作為、不候主之意旨、

不久即忘。慈訓不恤。

But they soon forgot what he had done and did not wait for his plan to unfold.

So the people grumbled against Moses, saying,“ What are we to drink?” (niv)

In the desert the whole community grumbled against Moses and Aaron. (niv)

They forgot what he had done, the wonders he had shown them. (niv)

And he called the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarreled and because they tested the Lord saying,“ Is the Lord among us or not?” (niv)

since you disregard all my advice and do not accept my rebuke, (niv)

So they quarreled with Moses and said,“ Give us water to drink.” Moses replied,“ Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the Lord to the test?” (niv)

This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:“ I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your well- being like the waves of the sea. (niv)

because they rebelled against God’s commands and despised the plans of the Most High. (niv)

You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of your inheritance— the place, Lord, you made for your dwelling, the sanctuary, Lord, your hands established. (niv)

Since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, (niv)
