生草萊以飼六畜、備菜蔬以供人需、俾穀產於地兮、

主令百草萌櫱、六畜囓之、菜蔬叢生、世人食之、咸地所產兮、

主使草生以養六畜、使菜長以備人需、

離離芳草。飼彼六畜。青青新蔬。酬人勞作。俾我芸芸。取食地腹。

He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate— bringing forth food from the earth:

凡活的動物都可作你們的食物。這一切我都賜給你們，如同綠色的菜蔬一樣。

凡有血有肉的，他賜糧食，因他的慈愛永遠長存。

土地必給你長出荊棘和蒺藜來；你也要吃田間的五穀菜蔬。

田野的走獸啊，不要懼怕，因為曠野的草已生長，樹木結果，無花果樹、葡萄樹也都效力。

神說：「地要長出植物，就是含種子的五穀菜蔬，和會結果子、果子裏有種子的樹，在地上各從其類。」事就這樣成了。於是地長出了植物：含種子的五穀菜蔬，各從其類；會結果子、果子裏有種子的樹，各從其類。神看為好的。

神說：「看哪，我把全地一切含種子的五穀菜蔬和一切會結果子、果子裏有種子的樹，都賜給你們；這些都可作食物。至於地上一切的走獸、天空一切的飛鳥，並一切在地上爬行的，有生命的動物，我把綠色植物賜給牠們作食物。」事就這樣成了。

萬有的眼目都仰望你，你按時給他們食物。你張手，使一切有生命的都隨願飽足。

田野的母鹿因為無草也撇棄才生的小鹿。野驢站在光禿的高地喘氣，好像野狗；牠們的眼目因無草而失明。」

使荒廢淒涼之地得以豐足，青草得以生長？

耶和華神使各樣的樹從土地裏長出來，可以悅人的眼目，好作食物。園子當中有生命樹和知善惡的樹。

可見，栽種的算不了甚麼，澆灌的也算不了甚麼；惟有神能使它生長。

亞哈對俄巴底說：「我們要走遍這地，到一切水泉旁和一切溪邊，或者能找到青草，可以救活馬和騾子，免得喪失一些牲畜。」

地上還沒有田野的草木，田間的菜蔬還沒有長出來，因為耶和華神還沒有降雨在地上，也沒有人耕種土地。

你耕種土地，它不再給你效力；你必流離飄蕩在地上。」
