“ Stop fighting, and know that I am God, exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth.”

Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding so that I can learn your commands.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.

So then, let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust themselves to a faithful Creator while doing what is good.

This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and the one you have sent— Jesus Christ.

Then they will know that I, the LORD their God, am with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people. This is the declaration of the Lord GOD.You are my flock, the human flock of my pasture, and I am your God. This is the declaration of the Lord GOD.’”

You were shown these things so that you would know that the LORD is God; there is no other besides him.

Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,for you were bought at a price. So glorify God with your body.

For you were like sheep going astray, but you have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

“ Your hands shaped me and formed me. Will you now turn and destroy me?Please remember that you formed me like clay. Will you now return me to dust?Did you not pour me out like milk and curdle me like cheese?You clothed me with skin and flesh, and wove me together with bones and tendons.You gave me life and faithful love, and your care has guarded my life.“ Yet you concealed these thoughts in your heart; I know that this was your hidden plan:

For it was you who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made. Your works are wondrous, and I know this very well.My bones were not hidden from you when I was made in secret, when I was formed in the depths of the earth.Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in your book and planned before a single one of them began.God, how precious your thoughts are to me; how vast their sum is!If I counted them, they would outnumber the grains of sand; when I wake up, I am still with you.God, if only you would kill the wicked— you bloodthirsty men, stay away from me—who invoke you deceitfully. Your enemies swear by you falsely.LORD, don’t I hate those who hate you, and detest those who rebel against you?I hate them with extreme hatred; I consider them my enemies.Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns.See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way.

Then we, your people, the sheep of your pasture, will thank you forever; we will declare your praise to generation after generation.

Today, recognize and keep in mind that the LORD is God in heaven above and on earth below; there is no other.

Let Israel celebrate its Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King.

But in the past, since you didn’t know God, you were enslaved to things that by nature are not gods.But now, since you know God, or rather have become known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elements? Do you want to be enslaved to them all over again?

Now, LORD our God, please save us from his power so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, LORD, are God— you alone.

He led his people out like sheep and guided them like a flock in the wilderness.

Zion, herald of good news, go up on a high mountain. Jerusalem, herald of good news, raise your voice loudly. Raise it, do not be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah,“ Here is your God!”See, the Lord GOD comes with strength, and his power establishes his rule. His wages are with him, and his reward accompanies him.He protects his flock like a shepherd; he gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them in the fold of his garment. He gently leads those that are nursing.

Know that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps his gracious covenant loyalty for a thousand generations with those who love him and keep his commands.

At the time for offering the evening sacrifice, the prophet Elijah approached the altar and said,“ LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, today let it be known that you are God in Israel and I am your servant, and that at your word I have done all these things.Answer me, LORD! Answer me so that this people will know that you, the LORD, are God and that you have turned their hearts back.”Then the LORD’s fire fell and consumed the burnt offering, the wood, the stones, and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench.When all the people saw it, they fell facedown and said,“ The LORD, he is God! The LORD, he is God!”

We have become like those you never ruled, like those who did not bear your name.

Shepherd God’s flock among you, not overseeing out of compulsion but willingly, as God would have you; not out of greed for money but eagerly;not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

“ I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and my own know me,just as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep.But I have other sheep that are not from this sheep pen; I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. Then there will be one flock, one shepherd.

“‘ For this is what the Lord GOD says: See, I myself will search for my flock and look for them.

Today, the LORD will hand you over to me. Today, I’ll strike you down, remove your head, and give the corpses of the Philistine camp to the birds of the sky and the wild creatures of the earth. Then all the world will know that Israel has a God,and this whole assembly will know that it is not by sword or by spear that the LORD saves, for the battle is the LORD’s. He will hand you over to us.”

But you don’t believe because you are not of my sheep.My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me.I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand.

Why have you rejected us forever, God? Why does your anger burn against the sheep of your pasture?Remember your congregation, which you purchased long ago and redeemed as the tribe for your own possession. Remember Mount Zion where you dwell.

But the LORD is the true God; he is the living God and eternal King. The earth quakes at his wrath, and the nations cannot endure his fury.

Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as overseers, to shepherd the church of God, which he purchased with his own blood.I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.

Then he remembered the days of the past, the days of Moses and his people. Where is he who brought them out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who put his Holy Spirit among the flock?

For God who said,“ Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of God’s glory in the face of Jesus Christ.

For the LORD is a great God, a great King above all gods.

Is it good for you to oppress, to reject the work of your hands, and favor the plans of the wicked?

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

For as I was passing through and observing the objects of your worship, I even found an altar on which was inscribed,‘ To an Unknown God.’ Therefore, what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you.The God who made the world and everything in it— he is Lord of heaven and earth— does not live in shrines made by hands.

So remember your Creator in the days of your youth: Before the days of adversity come, and the years approach when you will say,“ I have no delight in them”;

They say,“ Through our tongues we have power; our lips are our own— who can be our master?”
