Whoever remains stiff- necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed— without remedy.

Whoever still won’t obey after being warned many times will suddenly be destroyed. Nothing can save them.

He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck, will suddenly be broken beyond healing.

Whoever stubbornly refuses to accept criticism will suddenly be destroyed beyond recovery.

One who becomes stiff-necked, after many reprimands will be shattered instantly— beyond recovery.

A person often rebuked who becomes obstinate Will suddenly be broken beyond remedy.

He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, Will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck Shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

Therefore, his disaster will come suddenly; in an instant he will be broken, and there will be no remedy.

However, because I called but you refused to listen, because I stretched out my hand but no one paid attention,because you neglected all my advice, and did not comply with my rebuke,so I myself will laugh when disaster strikes you, I will mock when what you dread comes,when what you dread comes like a whirlwind, and disaster strikes you like a devastating storm, when distressing trouble comes on you.Then they will call to me, but I will not answer; they will diligently seek me, but they will not find me.Because they hated moral knowledge, and did not choose to fear the LORD,they did not comply with my advice, they spurned all my rebuke.Therefore they will eat from the fruit of their way, and they will be stuffed full of their own counsel.

“ What I am saying does not refer to all of you. I know the ones I have chosen. But this is to fulfill the scripture,‘ The one who eats my bread has turned against me.’

If a man sins against a man, one may appeal to God on his behalf. But if a man sins against the LORD, who then will intercede for him?” But Eli’s sons would not listen to their father, for the LORD had decided to kill them.

The LORD God of Israel who rules over all told him,“ Go and speak to the people of Judah and the citizens of Jerusalem. Tell them,‘ I, the LORD, say:“ You must learn a lesson from this about obeying what I say!Jonadab son of Rechab ordered his descendants not to drink wine. His orders have been carried out. To this day his descendants have drunk no wine because they have obeyed what their ancestor commanded them. But I have spoken to you over and over again, but you have not obeyed me!I sent all my servants the prophets to warn you over and over again. They said,“ Every one of you, stop doing the evil things you have been doing and do what is right. Do not pay allegiance to other gods and worship them. Then you can continue to live in this land that I gave to you and your ancestors.” But you did not pay any attention or listen to me.Yes, the descendants of Jonadab son of Rechab have carried out the orders that their ancestor gave them. But you people have not obeyed me!

to assume the task of this service and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.”

Jesus replied,“ It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread after I have dipped it in the dish.” Then he dipped the piece of bread in the dish and gave it to Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son.

“ But they refused to pay attention, turning away stubbornly and stopping their ears so they could not hear.Indeed, they made their heart as hard as diamond, so that they could not obey the Torah and the other words the LORD who rules over all had sent by his Spirit through the former prophets. Therefore, the LORD who rules over all had poured out great wrath.“‘ It then came about that just as I cried out, but they would not obey, so they will cry out, but I will not listen,’ the LORD LORD WHO RULES OVER ALL had said.‘ Rather, I will sweep them away in a storm into all the nations they are not familiar with.’ Thus the land had become desolate because of them, with no one crossing through or returning, for they had made the fruitful land a waste.”

The LORD confronted Manasseh and his people, but they paid no attention.

This will be a confirming sign for you that will be fulfilled through your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas: in a single day they both will die!

The prophet then said to him,“ This is what the LORD says,‘ Because you released a man I had determined should die, you will pay with your life and your people will suffer instead of his people.’”

Elijah replied,“ I have not brought disaster on Israel. But you and your father’s dynasty have, by abandoning the LORD’s commandments and following the Baals.

And you solemnly admonished them in order to return them to your law, but they behaved presumptuously and did not obey your commandments. They sinned against your ordinances– those by which an individual, if he obeys them, will live. They boldly turned from you; they rebelled and did not obey.

Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab,“ As certainly as the LORD God of Israel lives( whom I serve), there will be no dew or rain in the years ahead unless I give the command.”

When Elijah arrived, Ahab said to him,“ So, you have found me, my enemy!” Elijah replied,“ I have found you, because you are committed to doing evil in the sight of the LORD.The LORD says,‘ Look, I am ready to bring disaster on you. I will destroy you and cut off every last male belonging to Ahab in Israel, including even the weak and incapacitated.I will make your dynasty like those of Jeroboam son of Nebat and Baasha son of Ahijah because you angered me and made Israel sin.’The LORD says this about Jezebel,‘ Dogs will devour Jezebel by the outer wall of Jezreel.’

He also rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him vow allegiance in the name of God. He was stubborn and obstinate, and refused to return to the LORD God of Israel.

Micaiah said,“ If you really do safely return, then the LORD has not spoken through me.” Then he added,“ Take note, all you people.”

The one who walks blamelessly will be delivered, but whoever is perverse in his ways will fall at once.

Jesus replied,“ Didn’t I choose you, the twelve, and yet one of you is the devil?”( Now he said this about Judas son of Simon Iscariot, for Judas, one of the twelve, was going to betray him.)

The LORD God of their ancestors continually warned them through his messengers, for he felt compassion for his people and his dwelling place.But they mocked God’s messengers, despised his warnings, and ridiculed his prophets. Finally the LORD got very angry at his people and there was no one who could prevent his judgment.He brought against them the king of the Babylonians, who slaughtered their young men in their temple. He did not spare young men or women, or even the old and aging. God handed everyone over to him.

“ For the last twenty-three years, from the thirteenth year that Josiah son of Amon was ruling in Judah until now, the LORD has been speaking to me. I told you over and over again what he said. But you would not listen.Over and over again the LORD has sent his servants the prophets to you. But you have not listened or paid attention.He said through them,‘ Each of you must turn from your wicked ways and stop doing the evil things you are doing. If you do, I will allow you to continue to live here in the land that I gave to you and your ancestors as a lasting possession.

Jesus replied,“ The one who has bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean. And you disciples are clean, but not every one of you.”( For Jesus knew the one who was going to betray him. For this reason he said,“ Not every one of you is clean.”)

Now when they are saying,“ There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction comes on them, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will surely not escape.

Now an archer shot an arrow at random, and it struck the king of Israel between the plates of his armor. The king ordered his charioteer,“ Turn around and take me from the battle line, because I’m wounded.”While the battle raged throughout the day, the king stood propped up in his chariot opposite the Syrians. He died in the evening; the blood from the wound ran down into the bottom of the chariot.As the sun was setting, a cry went through the camp,“ Each one should return to his city and to his homeland.”So the king died and was taken to Samaria, where they buried him.

( Now this man Judas acquired a field with the reward of his unjust deed, and falling headfirst he burst open in the middle and all his intestines gushed out.

While he was speaking, Amaziah said to him,“ Did we appoint you to be a royal counselor? Stop prophesying or else you will be killed!” So the prophet stopped, but added,“ I know that the LORD has decided to destroy you, because you have done this thing and refused to listen to my advice.”

Therefore say to the people: The LORD who rules over all says,“ Turn to me,” says the LORD who rules over all,“ and I will turn to you,” says the LORD who rules over all.“ Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the former prophets called out, saying,‘ The LORD who rules over all says,“ Turn now from your evil wickedness,”’ but they would by no means obey me,” says the LORD.“ As for your ancestors, where are they? And did the prophets live forever?But have my words and statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, not outlived your fathers? Then they paid attention and confessed,‘ The LORD who rules over all has indeed done what he said he would do to us, because of our sinful ways.’”

The LORD said,‘ Who will deceive Ahab, so he will attack Ramoth Gilead and die there?’ One said this and another that.Then a spirit stepped forward and stood before the LORD. He said,‘ I will deceive him.’ The LORD asked him,‘ How?’He replied,‘ I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouths of all his prophets.’ The LORD said,‘ Deceive and overpower him. Go out and do as you have proposed.’So now, look, the LORD has placed a lying spirit in the mouths of all these prophets of yours; but the LORD has decreed disaster for you.”

And while they were eating he said,“ I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me.”They became greatly distressed and each one began to say to him,“ Surely not I, Lord?”He answered,“ The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me.The Son of Man will go as it is written about him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for him if he had never been born.”Then Judas, the one who would betray him, said,“ Surely not I, Rabbi?” Jesus replied,“ You have said it yourself.”

So this sin will become your downfall. You will be like a high wall that bulges and cracks and is ready to collapse; it crumbles suddenly, in a flash.It shatters in pieces like a clay jar, so shattered to bits that none of it can be salvaged. Among its fragments one cannot find a shard large enough to scoop a hot coal from a fire or to skim off water from a cistern.”

I did this because I know how stubborn you are. Your neck muscles are like iron and your forehead like bronze.

Your ancestors, however, did not listen to me or pay any attention to me. They stubbornly refused to pay attention or to respond to any discipline.’

Maybe they will pay attention and each of them will stop living the evil way they do. If they do that, then I will forgo destroying them as I had intended to do because of the wicked things they have been doing.Tell them that the LORD says,‘ You must obey me! You must live according to the way I have instructed you in my laws.You must pay attention to the exhortations of my servants the prophets. I have sent them to you over and over again. But you have not paid any attention to them.
