Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of garments.’”So Naaman said,“ Please, take two talents.” And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and handed them to two of his servants; and they carried them on ahead of him.When he came to the citadel, he took them from their hand, and stored them away in the house; then he let the men go, and they departed.Now he went in and stood before his master. Elisha said to him,“ Where did you go, Gehazi?” And he said,“ Your servant did not go anywhere.”Then he said to him,“ Did not my heart go with you when the man turned back from his chariot to meet you? Is it time to receive money and to receive clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen, male and female servants?Therefore the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and your descendants forever.” And he went out from his presence leprous, as white as snow.

Blessings are on the head of the righteous, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself.For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord.Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God.

He also said to His disciples:“ There was a certain rich man who had a steward, and an accusation was brought to him that this man was wasting his goods.

Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion.Surely he will never be shaken; The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance.He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.His heart is established; He will not be afraid, Until he sees his desire upon his enemies.He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted with honor.

And the Lord said,“ Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?

He who mocks the poor reproaches his Maker; He who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished.

“ I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

Do not overwork to be rich; Because of your own understanding, cease!

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

So Ahimelech answered the king and said,“ And who among all your servants is as faithful as David, who is the king’s son-in-law, who goes at your bidding, and is honorable in your house?
