If he said, Nay;then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth; and he said Sibboleth; for he could not frame to pronounce it right: then they laid hold on him, and slew him at the fords of the Jordan. And there fell at that time of Ephraim forty and two thousand.

and spake to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to your yoke: my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

And the words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the words of the men of Israel.

But they held their peace, and answered him not a word; for the king’s commandment was, saying, Answer him not.

For hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye should follow his steps:who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

But Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing judgment, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
