Like a muddied spring or a polluted well are the righteous who give way to the wicked.

Sometimes godly people give in to those who are evil. Then they become like a muddy spring of water or a polluted well.

Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.

But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of the LORD.And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod.
