Like one who takes away a garment on a cold day, or like vinegar poured on a wound, is one who sings songs to a heavy heart.

You may sing songs to a troubled heart. But that’s like taking a coat away on a cold day. It’s like pouring vinegar on a wound.

Whoever sings songs to a heavy heart is like one who takes off a garment on a cold day, and like vinegar on soda.

Singing cheerful songs to a person with a heavy heart is like taking someone’s coat in cold weather or pouring vinegar in a wound.

Singing songs to a troubled heart is like taking off clothing on a cold day or like pouring vinegar on soda.

要與喜樂的人同樂；要與哀哭的人同哭。

哭有時，笑有時；哀慟有時，跳舞有時；

豈不是要你把食物分給飢餓的人，將流浪的窮人接到家中，見赤身的給他衣服遮體，而不隱藏自己避開你的骨肉嗎？

若是弟兄或是姊妹沒有衣服穿，又缺少日用的飲食；你們中間有人對他們說：「平平安安地去吧！願你們穿得暖，吃得飽」，卻不給他們身體所需要的，這有甚麼益處呢？

他若是困苦的人，你不可用他的抵押品蓋着睡覺。日落的時候，總要把抵押品還給他，讓他用那件外衣蓋着睡覺，他就為你祝福。這在耶和華－你的神面前就是你的義行了。「困苦貧窮的雇工，無論是你的弟兄，或是住在你境內，在你城裏寄居的，你都不可欺負他。要當日給他工錢，不可等到日落，因為他困苦，需要靠工錢過活，免得他因你的緣故求告耶和華，罪就歸於你了。「不可因兒子處死父親，也不可因父親處死兒子；各人要因自己的罪被處死。「不可對寄居的和孤兒屈枉正直，也不可拿寡婦的衣服作抵押。

擄掠我們的在那裏要我們唱歌；搶奪我們的要我們為他們作樂：「給我們唱一首錫安的歌吧！」我們怎能在外邦之土唱耶和華的歌呢？

他們終夜赤身無衣，在寒冷中毫無遮蓋。他們在山上被大雨淋濕，因沒有避身之處就擁抱磐石。又有人從母懷中搶走孤兒，在困苦人身上強取抵押品。困苦人赤身無衣，到處流浪，餓着肚子扛抬禾捆，

王回到宮裏，終夜禁食，不讓人帶樂器到他面前，他也失眠了。

出於信心的祈禱必能救那病人，主必叫他起來；他若犯了罪，也必蒙赦免。

懶惰人使那差他的人，如醋倒牙，如煙薰目。
