不可喫小心眼兒人的飯；不可貪好他的美味；

你不要吃吝嗇人的餅，也不要貪戀他的美食；

勿食眈眈者之餅、勿貪其珍饈、

宴友而睚眦、勿與共食、貪其珍錯。

勿坐吝嗇人之席、勿貪其珍饈、

Do not eat the food of a begrudging host, do not crave his delicacies;

Don’t eat the food of anyone who doesn’t want to share it. Don’t long for his fancy food.

Do not eat the bread of a man who is stingy; do not desire his delicacies,

Don’t eat with people who are stingy; don’t desire their delicacies.

Don’t eat a stingy person’s bread, and don’t desire his choice food,

Do not eat the bread of a selfish person; Or desire his delicacies;

Do not eat the bread of a miser, Nor desire his delicacies;

Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, Neither desire thou his dainties:

Don’t eat the food of him who has a stingy eye, and don’t crave his delicacies:

Do not let me have evil desires, or participate in sinful activities with men who behave wickedly. I will not eat their delicacies.

Be careful lest you entertain the wicked thought that the seventh year, the year of cancellation of debts, has almost arrived, and your attitude be wrong toward your impoverished fellow Israelite and you do not lend him anything; he will cry out to the LORD against you and you will be regarded as having sinned.

Do not crave that ruler’s delicacies, for that food is deceptive.

But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself with the royal delicacies or the royal wine. He therefore asked the overseer of the court officials for permission not to defile himself.Then God made the overseer of the court officials sympathetic to Daniel.But he responded to Daniel,“ I fear my master the king. He is the one who has decided your food and drink. What would happen if he saw that you looked malnourished in comparison to the other young men your age? If that happened, you would endanger my life with the king!”

A generous person will be blessed, for he gives some of his food to the poor.

Am I not permitted to do what I want with what belongs to me? Or are you envious because I am generous?’

The stingy person hastens after riches and does not know that poverty will overtake him.

Likewise, the most tender and delicate of your women, who would never think of putting even the sole of her foot on the ground because of her daintiness, will turn against her beloved husband, her sons and daughters,

adultery, greed, evil, deceit, debauchery, envy, slander, pride, and folly.
