Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, Neither desire thou his dainties:

不可吃吝嗇人的飯，也不可貪戀他的美食。

不可喫小心眼兒人的飯；不可貪好他的美味；

你不要吃吝嗇人的餅，也不要貪戀他的美食；

勿食眈眈者之餅、勿貪其珍饈、

宴友而睚眦、勿與共食、貪其珍錯。

勿坐吝嗇人之席、勿貪其珍饈、

Do not eat the food of a begrudging host, do not crave his delicacies;

Don’t eat the food of anyone who doesn’t want to share it. Don’t long for his fancy food.

Do not eat the bread of a man who is stingy; do not desire his delicacies,

Don’t eat with people who are stingy; don’t desire their delicacies.

Don’t eat a stingy person’s bread, and don’t desire his choice food,

Do not eat the bread of a selfish person; Or desire his delicacies;

Do not eat the bread of a miser, Nor desire his delicacies;

Don’t eat a stingy person’s bread, and don’t desire his choice food,

Eat thou not the bread of[ him that hath] an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:

Do not eat the food of a stingy person, do not crave his delicacies;

Don’t eat the food of him who has a stingy eye, and don’t crave his delicacies:

Incline not my heart to any evil thing, To practise deeds of wickedness With men that work iniquity: And let me not eat of their dainties.

Beware that there be not a base thought in thy heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou give him nought; and he cry unto Jehovah against thee, and it be sin unto thee.

Be not desirous of his dainties; Seeing they are deceitful food.

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king’s dainties, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.Now God made Daniel to find kindness and compassion in the sight of the prince of the eunuchs.And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your food and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse looking than the youths that are of your own age? so would ye endanger my head with the king.

He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; For he giveth of his bread to the poor.

Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? or is thine eye evil, because I am good?

He that hath an evil eye hasteth after riches, And knoweth not that want shall come upon him.

The tender and delicate woman among you, who would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,

covetings, wickednesses, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, railing, pride, foolishness:
